Default Best bathroom scale?

I'm going to buy a scale today and have been looking at reviews online and still can't decide. Do any of y'all have any suggestions on a good scale? Maybe a thought on which ones I should stay away from?

Thank you

I got mine off Amazon a few days before i started my WOE in August 2013. The only requirements i was looking for was one that had a 400+ limit and had a back lit display. Holding up great so far.

I got the Eat Smart scale off Amazon. So far it's been doing awesome. I got it cause it had a huge number of reviews (16,000) and nearly all of them are 4+ stars. It also comes with a body tape measure, which was awesome cause I didn't have one prior. 400lb capacity, and weighs in .2 increments.

Wow, all those scales sound fantastic. I'm being super picky choosing a scale. I went to Target today to see what they had but I didn't like what was offered. I saw one that is portable. It's maybe the size of a tablet and you can take it anywhere with you. I'm wondering how reliable that would be and if it stays calibrated.

If you are talking about a travel scale, I have one of those. They are pretty good but I just use mine for traveling (overseas trips) and use my full size scale at home for daily use.

Travel scales have a few drawbacks.

First, you have to learn how to stand on them to get consistent weights. Not easy because they are small. As a heavier person, you would find this hard. I find it tricky at 170-ish lbs.

Secondly, they take watch type batteries which you will eat through quicker than ordinary batteries used in ordinary scales. And these batteries cost more too.

I also use the eatsmart scale. It works very well, but what sold me was the customer service--I got a scale that broke about 2 months after, and they IMMEDIATELY sent me a free replacement when I let them know it's been going strong for years now.

IanG:Thank you for the info on that. I was a bit weary so I didn't bother with the travel scale. I don't travel much so I knew it would not suit my needs. And the platform is so small!

Superhero: That sounds like a great company to deal with. Did you find yours online or in a store?

I had one of the eatsmart scales as well. I loved it. I had it down in the States, when I was visiting my boyfriend at the time. I was going to get one for home as well, but in the meantime my parents bought a different one (2, one for me one for them). I am just waiting for the one they bought me to die, so I can replace it with an eatsmart. I lost the eatsmart one in a housefire.

I got one of these. I like it because I feel like I can trust it, but it was expensive and only abetted me in my ocd about the scale. I think it would be much healthier if I could just weigh myself on any scale and accept the fact that it might not be correct to the closest oz.

I totally get where you are coming from because I am there, too. And do I really need a travel scale? I didn't know they existed until now...

Learn how to eat, get a little exercise and quit obsessing about the scale. End of lecture to myself!

We have the Fitbit Aria scale. It syncs with my Fitbit and MyFitnessPal. I like it but I am a data-junky and I like the graphs it spits out.

I use the most inexpensive Health-o-Meter scale available and replace it with the same model every now and then. It is extremely accurate for my purposes, more so than any pricier scale I've ever owned.
