Default Weekend Beach Feb 7-8

Good morning!

I was changing a diaper so thought I'd get us started this morning. I'm enjoying that first cuppa coffee then will head back to bed for a while.

It's going to be a beautiful day here! What's on everyone's agenda today? Stop and say hi.

Hey Debbie,
Hope you are having fun with that diaper :-)! Today we are going to Long Island to do our taxes. I'm hoping for a refund. Then out to a (I hope) celebratory dinner with friends at Benihana. I've got a busy weekend but I took Monday and Tuesday off as comp time to do some things around the house. This place is a disaster area!

Is anyone else experiencing extreme slowness with this site? I think it might have to do with the moving ads on the side. Hope everyone has a great day...

Matilda - my computer seems okay with the site, today anyway. Nice taking Monday/Tuesday off, good thinking!

Debbie - I haven't changed a diaper in a while . Are you getting any decent sleep? When did you say the ex wife arrives to help?

Well, I think the week wiped me out, and by last night I was dragging, although my legs felt better than normal. I'll try to keep it low key over the weekend, which means the kids and DH get to do all the cleaning . We do have friends coming over for dinner/games tonight, but we're keeping it simple for that.

Nothing too exciting here. They say we may be getting snow again sun/mon, I hope my kids don't have school off Monday AGAIN! That would be the third Monday in a row!

We are getting snow right now and it is forecast to continue until Tuesday!! No big dumps, just 1-3 inches every day and night.

Debbie, sounds like you are deserving of angel wings. I know we all "do what we have to", but you are a great example for others.

Tammy
, hope you get your rest this weekend.

Matilda
, I've been thinking about taxes too; I'll probably try to do them over President's Day weekend.

Today it's groceries and chores for me. Wonder what Ruth is up to?

Good morning It's a work weekend for hubby so I am up and at it early. My weekend project is inventorying the freezer and pantry and then creating a meal plan for the month that uses all that yumminess up. I started last night with a vegetable bean soup using dried zucchini and greens and some of my frozen basil parsley pesto. It was a hit. I'm still thinking/hoping I'll be laid off sometime in April so I want to add to savings before that happens. It's also just a good time to use up some of that. I think it will help with garden planning too. What do we use and how much?

Debbie - So happy those kids have you and the rest of their family. Take good care of you

Matilda - I'm not having any trouble with the site either. I was having lots of computer issues and finally removed flash. I can't watch cute puppy videos easily but everything runs faster. I did the first run through our taxes Thursday night, just need to do a once over to make sure I got all the homestead stuff right. Vermont is a little weird. Sadly our refund will probably go to bills and savings or maybe a garage. Maybe I'll squeeze a little out for something fun.

Tammy - rest, rest, rest We are watching the snow here too. I have had more than enough snow and cold this year. We haven't seen the ground since the day before Thanksgiving and will probably need another ton of pellets. I am ready for garden season!

Beth - I see 81 made the national news. eek.

I better get moving before the bread and milk crowd hit the stores. I bet that's getting old now. On the plus side the storm will get me out of a staff meeting up north. Time to hit the weekend chore list. Cricket is not going to be happy when I wake her to go outside!

Cyndi the bread and milk crowd are here too. Sadly when they hit the stores it seems like I am there for my weekly trip lol.

Matilda no issues, but I use my iPad not the computer to post. I'll keep my fingers crossed you get a refund. I am dropping off my paperwork to John, we use the same accountant. Originally I was off for the appointment, but now will be working Wednesday. At least I'll have Sunday off. I don't think I will see much of a refund if any. If I do it will go to bills.

Beth we are scheduled for snow dumps through Tuesday. I'm really getting tired of dealing with the mess.

Debbie hope you were able to get a little more rest. I can't remember the last time I changed a diaper.

Cyndi isn't it amazing how many meals you can find on hand in the freezer.

Tammy have fun with your company tonight. Hope you get some downtime.

Nothing new or exciting here. A hoped to sleep in, but the dogs had other plans. The happy Keurig is angry today and refuses to make me coffee. I think a replacement might be on my to do list.

Have a great day. I'm determined to get a cup out of this thing!

Good morning.

Debbie - With my being gone, I think I missed why you are on diaper duty.

We are having a short spell of unseasonably warm weather. Hopefully DH and I can get in a hike tomorrow. He's heading to his mom's today with my BIL to build her a "wheelchair" ramp for her to roll down with her walker. Even her two steps are getting too hard on her. I work the closing shift, by first back in weeks. My goal is to try on all the new clothes!

Have a great weekend.

I'm back! We got back on Thursday evening but I had to go to doctor's yesterday as Wednesday morning coming out of the gym at the resort I fell and twisted my ankle pretty bad. It was still swollen so wanted to make sure I didn't break anything. Checked out it and is just a bad sprain so a wrap and crutches for a few days. Kinda of hard to use crutches when your house is a two story and your laundry is in the basement. Trying to do my best to not overdo but this house needs cleaning.

Debbie I will have to go back and read threads to catch up

Matilda I did our taxes before we left, I did federal and 1 state and still will have to do our state we leave in but always wait to do that one. We are getting money back but it will go to savings to rebuild. I still have to finish my Mom and Dad's and do my two older kids taxes as well. I just use computer software to do.

Tywnn I am assuming that you returned to work this past week. Glad your legs are dong better.

Beth our weather as warmed up to 50s this weekend I will take it when we got home on Thursday it was 20.

Cyndi I am stock as well so I know what I need for upcoming week.

Jekel have you tried running vinegar through the Kerig I heard that helps

Karen I see you are back how was the vacation.

Phoenix was fun it got up in the 80s there it was beautiful, First weekend was interesting ride the bus and rail to get to Superbowl activities very packed and finished it up nicely at a very nice resort for conference and it was great and learned a lot to incorporate at work.

Have a wonderful Saturday

Good morning! Up early today for some reason. That's okay, I will beat the crowds to the store. We are expected to get another 6" of snow on top of yesterday's 4" so that gives me something to look forward to...

Also today will be food prep: make a quiche, some PB ricotta muffins (which are currently DH's favorite), etc.

Anyone need some coffee to get started?

(Jennifer, how's that Keurig working today?)

Hey guys - we did end up getting a nice refund, a little more than last year. We bought a new area rug for the living room on the way home from the appointment (yes, I could not wait) but the rest will go to a couple of other inexpensive home items, new tires for the car, and paying off a credit card. I'm just so relieved we did not owe! Today I have to serve at church, and then my fellowship circle has a brunch planned. I've got to get myself ready to do my work around the house tomorrow and Tuesday so I'll do that when I get home. Hope everyone has a great day!

Beth - we're south enough (middle PA) we're not getting snow right now . I think we're only going to get rain tonight, but I should probably check the forecast and see if they changed their minds again.

Matilda - YAY! for the refund! I need to do ours, I'm a bit nervous on it.

Today I HOPE will be a low key day, because yesterday certainly wasn't. I do want to make a grocery list and get that taken care of, although I think the list will be short.

have a great day!

Hey look, more snow I am waiting for a break so I can go shovel a potty path for her highness. She did manage to go out this morning but she wasn't happy about it. This winter is so persistent we are going to need another ton of pellets. I can't believe we will spend more this year without the polar vortex.

Beth - I always need more coffee!

Matilda - Aren't refunds great!

Tammy - hope you get some r&r in your plan for the day.

Ruth - Hope you are getting some sun for all of us stuck in the snow

Another day of chores, probably all from home. I am working on inventorying and then eating out of the freezer and pantry. I got the freezer done yesterday, the pantry should be easier on my hands. I have lots of roasted pumpkin, blueberries, and peppers

The snow is letting up, better get bundled and hit the path. Maybe I'll spend some time with my garden plan this afternoon
