Good early morning - again! I must have way too much on my mind because I did a post around 4:20 and wandered off elsewhere in the Net before I posted it. Duh!
Really in countdown mode today with lists to check, a few more things to stash away for the Big Floor Project and a trip to the next town for money, a large bag of dogfood and some prescriptions an absolute necessity. I suspect Paul will drop in during the day to go over some things re the flooring and I sure hope he doesn't linger.
We got yet another dump of snow yesterday - Mother Nature can't find the OFF button. More is happening today and also tomorrow! that my 5 PM flight isn't cancelled. It looks like the week I'm away is going to be the coldest one of the year!
I'd better post this before I get distracted. Was that a squirrel?
Ruth, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your flight, too. Today you have permission to let Paul know he needs to move on. lol What an exciting trip! My bro, who lives in Key West, has been several times. He goes with special permission, I believe his group volunteers with AIDS patients.
I, once more, got lots of rest, so I'm up and at 'em. I'm going to clean and organize first then work on the company books. I'm getting close with the first phase, which mom approves, before I start printing reports. Kirk returns later this afternoon.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, too, Ruth! I hope the roads will be cleared enough that you won't have any problems driving to Ottawa for your flight. I do envy you, basking away in the warm sunshine, while the rest of us are enduring winter!
Debbie, it sounds like another productive day for you.
Jennifer, I saw that horrible accident on the news. What a tragedy!
Karen, thanks for the pictures, and I hope you have more to share!
It's snowing lightly here this morning but not supposed to amount to anything. This time last year we were reeling from a horrible ice storm that took over a week to recover from. I sure don't want to re-live that anytime soon!
Today I'm going to finish wiping down walls and baseboards in the apartment in the carriage house at the farm to get it ready for the painters. The girls are scheduled for a riding clinic after school, so it should make for a short day for me.
Ruth, I can't believe your trip is almost here already. You sure did pick a fine time to go!
Lexiss, glad you got a good night's sleep, that's so important to help maintain your sanity.
Linda, hope your day stays low key! The radar last night looked like we were going to get dumped with snow, and it completely skirted around us.
Well, my 2 work day wound up being close to 4 hours, big surprise! I was surprised how well I held up, especially last night (I tend to be fine during the activity, it's later I crash). My arms are heavy today, but so far my legs are okay, which is awesome.
I'm going with a friend to breakfast (yay!), and I may go swimming today. I didn't really enjoy it that much, but I think it was better on me than walking, since it's low impact. We'll see what the day brings!
Mmmmm, and I get the rest of my confetti salad today!
Good morning. Ruth I checked the forecast and Cuba is reporting no snow ever!!! Keeping my fingers crossed Canadian weather cooperates.
Linda we have a dusting and it is still coming down. Looks like a snowy weekend here. Happy I bought 50lbs of calcium chloride yesterday
Debbie I bet you will be happy to have Kirk home. Good luck with your projects.
Yesterday I was a complete load. Napped away the day and didn't really care. Today I think I am more motivated since I started laundry before coffee. My Keurig is really becoming a pain. No coffee again today. It is just out of its warranty too I may break down and buy a new one. How long has everyone been using theirs?
Ok dogs finally decided to wake up. Have a great day
Morning Tammy you snuck in on me. Glad to hear it went well yesterday. Swimming sounds like a great way to start building your strength. Enjoy breakfast
Tammy, glad you had a successful day! Reading, I was reminded how DH had to re-strengthen after his surgery. Of course, such different surgeries, but he lost so much strength and it took time to build it back. Wish I could come to the pool with you and show you some water yoga. Oh, well!
Jennifer, glad to hear you took some down time! Thanks for the Cuba "snow report"! LOL Our coffeemaker is always a grind and brew-with SS carafe. Last year, one died long before it should have and I just went and got the new one. I spent extra and switched from CuisinarttoBreville. I'm happy and consider not fighting with my coffeemaker a gift to myself. I do have the old one in the basement right now just in case I decide to go through the hassle of replacing a heat-pump someday in my spare time.
Here's where I'll be. Note that it's a three star place which would be a two star place in North America. I chose it because it was small and I liked the idea of individual "villas". I do not like the idea of arriving home at 1:30 a.m. Luckily I have a free reservation at the airport Holiday Inn Express. My car will probably be covered with snow but I'll deal with that in the morning.
good afternoon It might be almost time for that afternoon cup. Tim works second shift and I had insomnia last night so I see more coffee in my near future.
Yes, it was snowing here too. Good thing I overslept because it made me late enough that the snow started before and I decided to work from here instead of tackling the roads. Work continues to have more drama than I care for. Will the project continue or not? If it ends how soon will we get layoff notices? Will there be other job options in the organization, and do I want one? At this point a spring/summer layoff sounds mighty tempting but we will see. Trying not to worry about it since decisions are all way above my pay grade.
Ruth - I hope the weather cooperates. Can't wait to see pictures!
Debbie - glad you got more rest.
Karen - thanks for the pics
Tammy - great news!
Cottage - perspective is important. Guess I'll stop complaining so much about the cold
Jennifer - a nap day sounds lovely
The sun is out. It's trying to make me believe it's not frigid out there but I'm not falling for it. I'm making an errand run soon then on the treadmill. I have a book I should have finished for work. I'm on chapter 4 so lots of treadmill time ahead. I bought the Kindle/Whisper Sync combo and love it.
Afternoon, everyone! I am allowing a quick check in before I head to the basement for my workout.
Ruth, I was amazed at the new snowfall over night; I had not mentally prepared to clean that much off my car. Enjoy Cuba; I'll enjoy the frozen northland for the both of us.
Tammy, sounds like yesterday was a milestone in moving forward in your recovery. Enjoy your pool time.
Cyndi, smart move, working from home. After a night or two above freezing we are headed back into it for the next week.
Jennifer, we keep an extra Mr. Coffee around for "emergencies". I can't imagine going a morning without. (Is that a problem?)
Cottage, we also had a lot of ice last year and I don't miss it!
Debbie, glad you are getting some sleep and hope your day was productive.
Okay, my 10 minutes are up; I'm off to do my exercise routine. Have a great evening, chicks!
