Default Here I go again

I'm 49 1/2 years old and have struggled with my weight all my adult life. It seems like as soon as I turned 13, it all came on. Plus being an emotional eating doesn't help.

But now at this age, I'm back at it. I started the 21 Day Fix in July 2014 and while I couldn't lose more than 5 pounds the entire time I did it, I slimmed down. Then sometimes life took over and missed exercise and it seemed like all I was doing was preparing food and exercising. Like everyday!

I wanted to do as much as possible because I was getting knee surgery in November. While the surgery was successful, I gained weight and my body got all flabby again. I was eating whatever I wanted and that was sweets and candy. My downfall.

Before surgery I was 213. Got at low as 207 but my struggled to hold that for a day or two. Guess being in menopause doesn't help either.

But today when I stepped on the scale and saw the 225, I freaked! Enough is enough. I am going to use some supplements to get me started, but know eating right and portion control plus exercise will do it. I'd be very happy to get to 195. That's 30 pounds.

My day job doesn't help any. Desk job. I have been using the stairs to use the upstairs bathroom though. But I'm really a screenwriter and write each night.

So I'm going to need help, make friends, and encouragement. :-)

Hi there! It's quite hard to make this decision when it starts quite early, so good on you!

I'm quite the emotional eater, as well. It can be hard to find other things to do, but if it helps, here are some alternatives I tried out: going to the gym, running alone, treating yourself to a mani/pedi and tons of creams, asking a friend to go out, watching a movie with either a light snack or nothing at all (and tons of blankets!).

My future career is pretty sedentary, too, so it's definitely a valid reason to worry. I'm sure we can start fitting some exercise time into our schedules, though! Good luck to the both of us! (:
