Good morning. I hope everyone who was off for MLK Day is rested and ready to tackle the rest of the week.
I must admit that I'm not ready since I woke at 2 last night. I think having had baked beans for dinner was part of the problem but it also was a hectic Monday with Dann here all morning, Barb in for coffee at noon and then Doug here to pick up CDs in the afternoon. Doug just loves to sit and chat but I ended up getting very little accomplished yesterday. I just can't work at night!....
This morning I am hitting the road for a while. I realized yesterday that I did not get the annual renewal sticker for the car licence! It's usually mailed to me by my birthday. Luckily there's a Service Ontario office over in Elgin so that should be quick. I plan to do a minor grocery shop while I'm there since I must go onto Phase 1.5 to get a blood sugar blip fixed before I go in holiday. I confess that I "sinned" a lot during December and got minor heck from Dr Jack after last week's bloodwork.
Katherine comes for a planning meeting this afternoon but that will be enjoyable. She is a delightful person - a very experienced events planner and I love working with her. She's new to the area and keen on Mill Events.
Nearly six! The dogs have been out, fed and are now back in bed. I'm tempted to do the same but will put on my Big Girl Pants and crank up the day.
Wow, I'm tired reading Ruth's post. Is it naptime yet?
Debbie - hugs and prayers for you and your family. What a difficult time.
Yesterday, DH had off work (lucky state employee), so he drove me to my work (50 min drive) just to see how I would do, and that I could say hello to everyone. The drive was fine, but my legs were sure wiped yesterday afternoon, which is a bit discouraging. My recheck was moved from today with the doc until tomorrow with the PA (I am not happy with this). I start work in 2 weeks, management sooner if I want, so I guess I just have to put on my big girl panties. Hopefully he will tell me I can't make it worse by going to work. And I should be released to drive tomorrow!
Eating has been going pretty well, in part because we never eat out and with a very strict budget, we're eating leftovers a lot. Lots of beans and rice! I am going to try and make a mushroom and rice soup today, I thought that sounded delish.
Mmmmmmm! I'm having a cup now and will make another to take with me out to the farm while I feed the dogs and let them romp for a while.
Ruthie, it sounds like another day of busy busy for you, and I hope you get more accomplished.
Tammy, it's hard to believe you will be going back to work in two more weeks, and I sure hope you're up to it. Will you have shorter hours at first? I hope so. I know you'll be happy to be able to drive again!
I need to get over to the farm this morning to see to the dogs and goats, but then I have the rest of the day off until I have to go back over late this afternoon, when the family is due back. I want to pick up a nice roasting chicken and some fresh fruit and veggies for their dinner tonight, too.
Well, I'd better go start warming up my car since it's covered with frost!
Good morning It's hard to believe I just had a couple of weeks off. I am ready for another vacation already. Ah well, back to work today. I get to meet with a good friend so that will be fun. Tomorrow Tim and I have a yoga date. We've been saying we need to get back to yoga for months. This might be the way to do it.
Ruth - I'm with Tammy, your day is exhausting to read about maybe another cup of coffee?
Tammy - Yum, I love mushroom soup. Can't remember if I mentioned we discovered that tim was getting sick from the wild mushroom/wine combo? It makes sense to just skip the mushrooms but I miss them so. Maybe I'll make myself a small pot of soup for the nights he works late.
Cottage - At least the roads are better today.
I suppose I should think about starting the work day. Off I go
Thanks for always being here everyone! I can't begin to say how much it means to me to have a normal place to come in the morning and think about all of you and myself.
I ended up going down to Denver late last night and didn't get home until midnight. Then I couldn't go to sleep anyway. Today's a court date, and I wish that I had arranged to take the day off today, but I didn't, and so I'll make my smoothie and get through this day the best I can.
Food has been on the lights the past few days, which is okay right now. Next on my agenda is calling in after 5 PM to see if I have to show up for jury duty tomorrow. I've gotten out of it for a long time and now my neighbor is the court clerk so I guess I'd better tow that line.
I need to go check on my laundry and fit in some more coffee time. Have a great day everyone!
Well Due to this crazy menopause and hoping i was almost thru it but low and behold nope. I do not feel good this morning but am on beginning of phase 2. Which is good cause I am craving some carbs but just have to be careful. I will go back to phase 1 after this next week or two. On the plus side I have lost 8 lbs in two weeks. I hope everyone has a good day!
Hey ladies, just thought I'd stop by and get caught up on the news. It was a busy day at work today; but I must say I was happy with all the cleaning and chores I got done yesterday.
(and I'll take my cup as decaf after dinner, thanks )
Hi friends, sorry no check in for the past couple of days...we went to see my parents upstate this weekend and it was really hard. My dad's in bad shape and it's so sad to see. I wish I could do more for them, but being 3 hours away does not make it easy. Anyway, I needed some cheering up so I came here to check in. I highlight Lexis' sentiment - thanks for always being here!
