Default Tiny little victory

Not really super inspiring or anything, I just wanted to share a small victory I had that I actually considered a great step for me since it's a reflection of my change in mentality.

Basically, whenever I tried to lose weight before, I'd fail miserably because I'd break down in the first tiny mistake and think it was over then. I didn't want to commit on the long run, and whenever I fell, I made no effort to get myself back up. It was all or nothing in the worst way, 'cause you're never really at a completely ideal lifestyle for long.

Yesterday, my little cousin slept over, so we ordered pizza. And I was able to have my share of junk food without letting it bring me down the next day or discourage me completely. I've never really acknowledged these exceptions as exceptions, so I'm quite proud of being able to prove to myself that I'm really committed this time!

Weird kind of victory haha but that's it. Keep going, guys and gals!

That is great! We can't live on diet food or we will always feel deprived. I also had to learn how to have real food and not beat myself up about it. It's hard not to but I just tell myself it's either this or eventually I'll cave and go overboard. My son's birthday was Wednesday but we're doing his party today. I just ordered 4 large pizzas, plus the icecream cake I made. I will enjoy dinner and dessert but in moderation, and I won't feel guilty tomorrow :-)

It's not weird at all. I've made the same change in thought this time around and am allowing myself my favorite foods in moderation. I never did that before and felt the same way everytime I 'cheated'... I'll never stick with it long enough to lose everything I need to. At some point I would eventually give up. Changing the way I view those foods has helped me stick with this longer than I ever have before. Congratulations on your BIG victory!!
