Default Tuesday Chirping - January 13

Good morning! We are back in a deep freeze again! It's -11F or -23C! Real winter has struck although it was nice to have above freezing temps for a few hours yesterday. The birds somehow knew a big freeze was coming and were really gorging at the feeders. There were seven blue jays there at one time jostling for position!

Got absolutely nowhere on the stupid rabbit yesterday. I am convinced that the picture has no relationship to the pattern so I guess I'm on my own. I can draft clothing patterns from pictures but have never done a stuffed animal.

At nine this morning I have an "events" planning meeting for the Mill. First will be the Maple Syrup Festival, the third weekend in April. Seems far away but we need to gear up for the season. I've finished and submitted the huge application for a grant for summer student employment - we nearly missed it last year due to procrastination. (The person who was to do it went to Thailand and missed the deadline of January 31st!) We already have a resume from a young man who wants to work for us this season.

I may or may not continue rabbit struggles this afternoon. I'm finding it difficult to decide what to do these days - to many "musts" and "shoulds". Michelle comes to clean this Thursday and I just may do my pre-Michelle tidying since there is still some Christmas stuff to be stashed.

No Bailey's in the coffee this morning but I did add a bit of cocoa powder to my mug before Keurigging. Tastes pretty good with Splenda. I just may have another.

Stay warm and cozy and be nice to yourself today. If you didn't have your body, where would you live?

Good morning!

Ruth, good morning! thanks for getting us started! If I could just keep working on those need to projects I'd have more time to myself when the weather gets better. That's what I keep telling myself, and I keep plugging away on those items. Good luck with that rabbit. I've never tried anything quite like that.

I didn't sleep too well last night so I'm up with some coffee and I'm going to try to get some stuff done before work today. I'd like to travel over this evening, if possible, because maybe I could meet with the Roto rooter guys tomorrow morning and get my mother's plumbing situation resolved. Everything is still in limbo with Kirk's daughter and I feel like I need to be available if something changes there.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to take care of myself. I still have the remnants of this darn cold and my usual energy is pretty nonexistent.i've been sticking with my food plan, which certainly helps.

Guess I better get moving. Have a great day everyone!

Morning, Ruth and Debbie! Thought I would check in while I wait for my car to warm up: we have -13 this morning. Tonight looks to be colder.

Ruth, Sounds like you have an awful lot on your plate and I know how hard it can be to juggle and prioritize. Hope your day is productive!

Need to go scrape my car. Have a great day, chicks!

ETA- ok, I'm slow in the morning...I get it... I'd still like my body to live where its warmer!!

Bummer, Beth. You must have got ice yesterday instead of the snow we had. I am so glad I can put my car in the barn! Around here, the cops pull you over if you have not removed snow and ice from your whole car, not just the window. There's nothing worse than stopping quickly and having the ice and snow on your roof slide forward onto the windshield so they do have a point.

Debbie, sure hope that cold hits the road for you soon! Healthy eating DOES help!

Morning!

Ruth, the same applies here but there's always the person who thinks the law isn't meant for them. There have been several horrible accidents and deaths from the ice and snow flying off a car and hitting the car behind them.

If I could live anywhere, right now I'd be on a beach in Jamaica. I actually do enjoy living where I live right now, although I'd like to pick up my house and move it closer to the Jersey shore. We're within easy driving distance to the cities, mountains, countryside, and ocean. And I'd enjoy the snow if I didn't have to drive in it.

It's a much nicer day here today. Colder, but at least the sun is shining. Yesterday Cindy never could get her car out of the garage because of the ice on the driveway, and used my car all day. I'm hoping the ice broke up so she can use her own today.

Well, I'd better get a move on. Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning chicks!

Ruth - do you know who applied already? Weren't you really happy with the group last year? Hope you get a fantastic group this year0!

Debbie - you need to take care of yourself, you're always on the go, and a lot of people depend on you!

Beth - egads. Guess we're lucky with 22. I do enjoy snow though, it will be interesting if my love dies with metal in my neck, lol.

Linda - I'll join you in Jamaica for a few days! I'm a mountain person, but I don't mind visiting the beach .

Yep, weather is not too bad here this morning. Mentally I feel better today, those darn horrormones...normally exercise keeps them in check, which isn't much possible right now. I am going to a friends this morning for "coffee and gossip", lol. I did realize I keep losing my balance because I'm losing muscle strength in my left leg, so whenever I shift weight (like turning), I my leg tends to give. Hope that's reversible!

Gratefully, a friend is bringing dinner tonight . She's so sweet.

Good morning,

It is a chilly morning today, just have to get through until Thursday and then we have a warm up. I am wfh so I am not complaining though DS is missing me dropping him in front of his building today.

I am still battling cold as well at least I didn't have a choking fit yesterday so that was an improvement.

Ruth glad you are getting things done. I told my BFF when I retire I want two places one on the beach and one in the moutains, she liked that idea

Debbie hope you feel better and get plumbing situation under control

Beth hope your drive to school was safe

Cottage hopefully Cyndi is able to drive her own car today

Tywnn I hope a lot is reversible for you and that once you are healed you can built up muscle strength again. It takes so long to built and only like two weeks to lose a bunch crazy

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good morning - and yes, it is the morning!!

Ruth - We have a sweltering 23F this morning!! I think it’s time to break out the shorts!

Debbie - Hope you get to feeling better today and your trip over is uneventful - we are supposed to have more snow here today but I don’t know if it’s supposed to extend down South.

Beth - I’m with you on living somewhere warmer if I didn’t have to go places. Drive safe!!

Linda - What a coinkydink we will be in Jamaica in 22 days! We are still trying to figure out exactly what to do for the day we are there. We have beach things already lined up for the next two days so we were thinking about going on a tour of Good Hope. Have you done that? Any other suggestions?

Tammy - Have a wonderful time at your coffee and gossip session! Thank goodness for friends!!!

Pearlrose - Hope you continue to get better and better! A warm up will definitely help. Looking at the 50’s for the weekend - woohoo!!

I’m back at work today after a lovely three day weekend. I spent the weekend making thank you cards and getting things ready for our trip. My plan is to give our room steward a different card each day with a little sweet treat and also take some extras for other ship staff that we want to recognize. We had such great service on our last cruise and I found myself wishing I could let the staff know how much we appreciate them in addition to tipping extra.

Everyone have a great day!!

Good morning

Ruth. Sure is great that you can put your car in the barn.

Debbie. Hope your cold leaves soon. Take care of yourself.

Beth. What a perfect place to live. I love n.h.

Linda. Hope you get to use your car. Sunshine is good.

Tammy. You sound cheerful today. Enjoy your coffee.

Pearlrose. Keep warm

Gabby. What a nice idea for your cruise

there's a extreme cold warning here today. I've been busy baking for a meeting I'm going to tomorrow. Didn't feel like it but was asked very nicely. Also, ds2 is in town so have made some food for him. He is working editing a movie and his hours are very long.
take care

Good morning, chicks.

I'm currently having an online chat with a rep from the airlines we are using for one of our flights while in Ecuador. Slow going... maybe she needs to translate all my English to Spanish

I have a few more pre-trip errands to run today. I would like to have EVERYTHING laid out today but am not sure I'll make that goal since I work this afternoon. I'm off tomorrow and might even get to relax for a few minutes! I haven't traveled internationally in many years - this is a lot more work than I remember!

Happy Tuesday.

Hi all,

Late start, meh.

Gabby - to answer your question...we had the Fitbit Force. I am allergic to nickel and in fear that I'd react, we returned our fitbits in March last year and have been waiting for the improved model to come out. Glad it has! DW loves hers so far and we really enjoyed the Force!

Karen - so jealous of the trip
