Mission: Lose the Flab, Look Fab!
Hi everyone!
I am a 25 year old wife and mama! I have a wonderful and supportive husband who is shipping off to boot camp in a few months to be a Navy diver. We have a beautiful little boy, who is 2 years old!
Since my husband is doing intense physical training before he leaves, I've decided to join him! I've been running 5 miles (albeit, a LOT slower than my husband...takes me about an hour to finish), and doing some weight training. Unfortunately, due to my Hashimoto's thyroiditis, I haven't lost a pound. I am going to remove all gluten from my diet and lower my carb intake to see if that helps with the inflammation and water retention. Gluten is contraindicated for those with Autoimmune disorders, but I've always been a bit lazy about trying to go gluten free...after all...gluten makes things delicious! But for the sake of my health and ever growing waist line, I am going to give it shot!
I weighed 280 when I was 36 weeks pregnant and went into labor with our kiddo. After he was born, my thyroid pretty much stopped working altogether and I am at an insanely high 323. Obviously (as noted by the fact that I can run 5 miles at a time plus weight train) it hasn't effected my mobility much which is a big blessing. I am a size 24 and I would LOVE to wear something a much smaller to my husband's boot camp graduation!
I am a very optimistic person, and believe that I can tackle this mountain, one pound at a time! Who's with me?!
