Default Obese in previous pregnancies, healthy BMI for next?

Hi, my husband is incredibly keen to add to our family -I on the other hand am not opposed to the idea but I do have a few reservations!!

First, I have gone from 211 to 130ish pounds this year and quite honestly and selfishly I do not want to go back there

Has anyone lost a large amount of weight and gone on to have a 'skinny' pregnancy? How was it different/better?

There are many more factors playing around in my mind but this is one I hope someone here might have first hand experience of.

And I should add, I was obese (gained and never lost) any of my baby weight from number one and have three children already. I only gained around 10 pounds with my third but I was already 200!

I have not had a "skinny" pregnancy, although I've had a medium one (20lbs overweight, as opposed to obese.)

I just finished up a zero net weight gain pregnancy - 200 at conception, 186 at 10days postpartum. I meal planned very carefully, and I honestly think that for folks who have ever been heavy, this is going to be necessary. We can't trust our bodies' impulses for food the way a lifelong thin person can.

In your shoes, I think I would start off with maintenance calories + 200 or so, and see where you are at after the first tri. You really don't need much extra till halfway through, after all.

Well I didn't plan my meals and enjoyed some fast food and sweets etc and had a 21 pound weight gain during pregnancy and have now lost 16 pounds of this since having my daughter 3 weeks ago.

Prior to my pregnancy I was 8.5 pounds over weight and I am now 13.5 pounds over weight. Though I weigh a little less than I did last Christmas.

I was also obese in 2013 and must admit I was worried about excessive weight gain and found that thanks to morning sickness in the first trimester that I managed to keep my weight gain down to a minimum.
