I had a craniotomy 30 days(10/16/14) before I started back on IP. (11/12/14), 1st week I lost 6, second week I had rotator cuff surgery and missed weigh-in. 3rd week, no loss, but I did have the addition of a large bulky arm support/sling. It weighs something, don't know how much, but that's what I lost...That will be a bonus when it comes off in 6 weeks. I'm leaving now to go weigh in for week four and I think I have a small loss.
My coach thinks the medications, pain meds and steroids are impacting my weight loss. But, I'm not cheating, and the trend is down....just a little slow at this point. Surgery in October and surgery in November...all done...should lose faster now, right? Trying not to take much pain meds. I want to do this and a little faster would be nicer!
Cyndie - sorry you've had to go through so much in such a short period of time.
And yes, the surgery and healing will take a toll on your weight loss temporarily. Your body retains water to cushion the injured areas so don't worry about it. The weight will come off as you heal.
I had hernia surgery in P1 and then a follow up surgery shortly thereafter. Slowed me down some but as my body healed I got great losses.
Be sure to get lots of water in and lots of protein while you're healing - protein promotes healing. I actually went up to 4 packs a day right after surgery to increase the protein and because they went down easily when I didn't feel like eating.
Hang in there - the most important thing right now is letting your body get better!

In 2007 I had a crainiotomy for removal of a meningioma tumor behind my left eye under the temporal lobe -- it was about 90 days before I felt reasonably normal, but in the end all is well and I returned to all regular activities. I wish you a recovery as well or better than what I experienced.
I also have to commend you for committing to sticking with this IP program as you go through all of these medical trials. If you are able to do this, you must know you can do anything!!!!
Thanks for the kind words of support Ruth Ann and Oneuh2, it really helps!
I went to my weigh in yesterday and though I only lost 1&1/2 pounds, I lost two inches in my chest, one inch in my waist, one inch in my hips and 2&1/4 inches in each thigh!! Wow, I was excited about that. I am on the trip down..down in weight down in inches but up in spirits.

Terrific results, especially given the challenges you had to deal with this time!!!

Oneuh2,
You started at the same weight I did, and I can't wait to be where you are now. We also have the same ultimate goal weight.
Cyndie
You are right - we have set ourselves on the same path! I look forward to supporting your journey - I am sure you can do it!!!
