Default Wednesday Beach Chat for 12/10

Sorry, ladies, I have no creative title today, LOL

Been super busy around here. Since mom left I have only had one day off. I did, however, buy a new Christmas tree and get it put up. I accomplished that by staying up for 36 hours straight and crashing that night.

Things are going well with Jaime and I still. I asked him the other day what he wanted for Christmas and he said "you." Silly, boy...he already has that. LOL Not sure if I mentioned it before, but he and his daughter may come up for Christmas. Unfortunately, I won't be able to take any time off from work...but I work midnights, anyway, so they'll be sleeping while I work.

Glad to here that Tammy's surgery went well and that the Ladies Getaway was a blast. Speaking of...Jennifer, not sure what your holiday schedule is like, but there's a chance I may be back in the city on the 23rd, LOL Looking at seeing How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Alright, attaching a pic of the tree and wrapping this up. Hope everyone has a lovely day! My plans are to go shopping for more Christmas ornaments! I'm building up my collection.

Good morning from the snowy north! I got my snow day (although looking out the window in the dark it doesn't look that bad.) So now I can finish the decorations, maybe do some wrapping...oh and I suppose I should do a bit of cleaning...Maybe a pot of bean soup, too.

Coffee's on! Who needs some?

Thanks for the coffee, Beth, while I'm enjoying looking at Natasha's pretty tree.

Snow days are special, Beth, and I hope you're enjoying yours! We may get a passing snow shower here today, but all the heavy stuff went north of us.

Yesterday was busy, after being away for 5 days, and to make matters more interesting, we couldn't use the kitchen because the floor was being sanded. Today will be even more interesting since they will be putting down the stain, and we won't be able to use the kitchen at all. I just hope it doesn't stink up the whole house, since it's too cold to open the windows! They'll be beautiful when it's done, though, and the end of this massive project is finally in sight.

I hope Tammy continues to have a smooth recovery and is feeling better every day.

GOOD MORNING CHICKS!!! Oh, have I missed you. I didn't check in for TWO mornings?!!? Considering I almost didn't eat Monday (except for a bit of a blueberry smoothie), and didn't eat a lot yesterday, I think I'll be okay. I do think my appetite is coming back, I think it was off from my spinal cord being 55% compressed. I was grateful, my neighbor (whose DH works for my doctor) made me a fabulous chicken rice soup that I had last night. Very tasty and I am quite sure SBD compliant (not that I care right now!).

Today, is, well...nothing. I do want to get some birthday items may manager brought up from my other job if she's there today. Other than that, rest. I shouldn't have an excuse not to do Christmas cards this year!

THanks chicks for all your support!! XOXO

Thanks for starting us up, Natasha. Your tree is very pretty - mine may or may not go up today.

I popped in last night and saw the good news from you, Tammy - so very glad! I'll keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

We have a Snow Day here too, Beth, and it's also a "go" day for me getting my upstairs back in order. (Can't find the scale which is probably a good thing!)

Linda, I miss you. Hope the kitchen floor reno goes quickly and there is minimal odour. At least it's a short week - or do you need to work Friday?

Aside from being a Snow Day, today is third dog day. Joanne will bring Joey the car herding Aussie here before noon so that all goes well. He does like and obey me (most dogs do for some reason) and loves my two and the yard so ... but my fingers are still crossed that he doesn't escape to do traffic control. If that happens, he will go to 4PawsInn.

My floors upstairs are awesome (and I never use that word!) and Paul even decided to do the stairs as well. So glad to be rid of the grotty green carpet that's been there for over 30 years! I can hardly wait for them to do the downstairs in the new year.

We now resume regular programming and the Christmas countdown.

Hi everyone,
My cousin got off ok yesterday, although her flight was delayed for 5 hours and then cancelled! Luckily there was one more flight that day to London, Ontario and she was able to get on that one. It was touch and go all day so I did not know if she'd be coming back to stay last night, which gave me a perfect excuse to ditch my fast - although how crazy is it, I made it to 6pm before I did that. Oh well...

Only two weeks left of work, and I want to finish up many projects before the break. We are off 12/24-1/4 so it's a nice long one.

Cottage and Ruth, great to have you back and Tammy!! great to see you back in the swing. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!

Glad to hear from everyone this morning, especially Tammy, glad to hear you are doing so well!

We were going to leave super early this morning but decided to sleep in instead. Now I've got a bunch of stuff to do before we can get the car packed and head out.

Natasha, what a beautiful tree! We are going to do Christmas next week over in Glenwood while my sister is here and I think we are undecided as to how much decorating we're going to do on the side this year.

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Hump Day, all . . . the high school kids are counting down the days until vacation - only one more Wednesday. Never sure who is more excited - them or the teachers at this point! I look forward to the vacation because I get to hang out with my kids and not worry about THEIR homework - lol.

Our tree is purchased and in the stand - it just has no lights or ornaments yet. I was hoping yesterday would be decorating day, but DD 1 suddenly decided to join indoor drum line, so there went 6-9 last night. Tonight is DD 2's Winter Concert at school, so no decorating this evening. Tomorrow I have a Board meeting, Friday is my girlfriend's annual Cookie Party, Sunday in the Nutcracker with the girls . . . maybe we will decorate after that!

Tammy - so glad you are home and on the mend. I second the plan of staying ahead of any pain - do not let it set in, as it is so much harder to manage at that point.

Be well!
