Hello from newbie in Cincy/Northern KY!

  • Hi all! New here and hoping to find some encouraging friends! I'm starting week 5 on WW. Down 9 pounds thus far, but the journey feels slow. Despite a very disciplined week of staying within my points allowance and hearty exercise last week (running and strength training), I lost almost nothing. Still a loss though, right!?

    Welcome to the forum!

    9 pounds is awesome, and sounds just about right for 5 weeks. But if it slows down I wouldn't worry about it too much because:
    a) you're not gaining, which is in itself a huge improvement
    b) you're WAY less likely to gain weight back quickly if you lose it slowly

    I'm so terrified of regaining that I've set my weight loss at about 3 pounds per month (I count calories). Yeah, it's slow, but I reward myself just for sticking to the plan, not for pounds lost. Weight loss and maintenance are a lifelong process, so really there's no hurry (as much as it would be nice to look good in a bikini).
