Question What are you enjoying most about your current weight loss?

I'm in a good place mentally and emotionally in regards to my current weight loss (despite the fact that Aunt Flo is messing with my water weight at the moment LOL) and am curious to know what is making you happiest about your loss lately.

My thoughts are....
  1. I'm not embarrased to look in the mirror anymore.
  2. I have a much better self image to the point I want to wear make-up and style my hair again.
  3. Wearing smaller sized clothes I forgot I had and even some that still had tags that I never lost enough last time to wear.
  4. I can sit in a booth at a restaurant again. LOL
  5. Having to buy new clothes. (Though I don't have the $$$ to. LOL)
  6. I'm not *as* embarrassed about being out in public anymore.

Awesome thread!

1. I absolutely love the feeling of being in control again- the loss of that reeling into chaos feeling!
2. I love walking into the shower and catching a glimpse of my body and not hating it
3. I love refusing to buy new clothes. My old skinny clothes almost fit and I'm forced to wear jeans to work but I REFUSE to buy a size up because I have faith that I will fit into my old pants soon enough!
4. I love not having to force people to take pictures of me from way above due to fear of double chin
5. I love the feeling that at Christmas this year, family won't be able to say "oh, you've gained weight!"

1. I love that my weightloss is really slow and that it's staying off.
2. I love to see my self crave fresh food.
3. I enjoy the ritual of making my daily lunch salad. All the chopping feels very cathartic.
4. I feel beautiful all the time.
5. I love not weighing myself
6. I love not having to worry about food in social situations anymore, I feel a lot of freedom to order what I want and don't feel embarrassed.
7. I don't feel guilty anymore and I don't feel inferior.

It's wonderful to see positive reminders about all of our hard work. Sometimes the frustrations and sadness overwhelm all we've done to get this far. Thank you for sharing! ♥

I love not feeling like it's just a matter of time before I gain it all back. For the first time, I don't feel like a tightrope walker trying not to wobble and fall off.

I've made peace with what I have to do to lose the weight and I'm OK with whatever pace I lose it. I love that I enjoy my lifestyle changes and don't feel deprived or resentful.

I'm enjoying that this time is going to be the last time I have to lose this weight. I believe in me, for the first time ever, 110%.

I've had all of those good feelings! Love it.

But today, I got a whammy. Of the good kind, but strange.

My DH works for the local city government, and due to all the new health insurance mish mosh.

We had to go get our blood drawn a few weeks ago and fill out all kinds of paper work.

When I got all the stuff back from "interactive health" I had to laugh.

They said, at 5'5" and 140 pounds, I'm underweight! All of my health numbers are great, but they also said, I don't eat enough vegetables and fruit. Really! I eat that stuff by the truck load. For the love of Pete. I canned over 200 pints and or quarts of veg from my garden! And it will all be gone way before I can get the new crop started in the spring.

I'm fine with my health and my body.

They also told my Dh, 6', 170, that he is FAT! *rolls eyes*

So, I will carry on, with my veggies and my garden, and my good blood pressure and glucose and cholesterol numbers, and workouts, and the Dh will as well.

They won't like me at the next health insurance meeting. Especially when I tell them I lead the local WW group, and we need to have a heart to heart about "stuff!"

-How much easier and more enjoyable it is to ride a bike.

-Weighing significantly less than my dad instead of significantly more.

-Medium shirts fitting better than large and being unable to shop in the plus sized section.

-Not wearing jeans over my belly button and jeans that are the perfect length right from the store without hemming them or rolling them up.

-Finding bones I forgot I had.

-Not minding when people touch my back or lay in my lap.

-When little kids hug me they can get their arms all the way around me.

I love that my boobs are so tiny.

LOL! This one I know is the opposite for a lot of women who mourn the loss of cup sizes when they lose weight, but although my boobs were never that big, I always wanted them gone as a teenager. I can't really explain why.

I was wearing a 34DD at my highest weight, but these days I'm technically a 30D. Except that size is so hard to find that I decided to just buy a bunch of cheap little sports bras instead of shelling out the money for nice stuff.

Anyway, if someone had told me when I was 12 that losing weight meant your boobs would shrink I wouldn't ever have gotten overweight as a teen.

I like that I just look 'normal', I can fade into the crowd and don't feel like I am sticking out like a giant fat thumb! LOL

I just generally like not being as heavy. I like that it doesn't hurt my lower legs to jog any more. I like being able to fit into slightly smaller clothes. I like how dedicated I've been to making a change this time around.
I also like that I am slimmer than my older sister. Maybe it's petty, but growing up she was slim to average size while I grew up fat and I never thought that was fair. The whole family's overweight nowadays, but yay, I'm the smallest.

I love how fast I can get dressed now - I pick what I want to wear and put it on! No more trying on 10 different things and hating how I look in everything. So easy now!
