Default Like Kicking a Stubborn Horse

Hey everyone!

I had a feeling today that I wanted to share! Now that I have been fabulously on track and on plan for almost two weeks straight, I have this NEED FOR SPEED! It makes me laugh. I know it took longer than a week to gain the weight so obvi it'll take longer to lose, but I feel like I'm like a cowgirl, running through the field, jumping on the horse to ride, blazing into the sunset but DAMN this horse won't move and just wants to chew on grass!

Or maybe I'm excited to be on this new highway of accountability but my car has broken down!

Or I'm in Free Willy and can't make the wall jump!?!

I am so thrilled to be back on track but I WANT FAST RESULTS! I know I need to be patient but I feel like a child who has 4 days to wait until Disneyland.

lol hope I maybe made you smile. Cheers to quick results for all of us

LOL Very cute! I've been feeling the same way the past couple weeks. That's why I started exercising too. To hopefully put the losing in high gear. It's worked great.

Why is it I can put on 4lbs over a weekend but then it takes 2-3 weeks to get rid of it? It's fun putting it on (relatively speaking, usually fun food and drinks I mean) but sheer torture getting it off.

I want to join your express train please!

Haha... you're too much fun!
You could try joining the challenges here... the "lose this many pounds by hallowe'en" type things...

Personally I'm trying to lose slowly, so I'm actually eating unenthusiastically some evenings to make sure I get enough protein and make it close to my calories every day. The plan is to keep all my lean mass so I'm just losing fat, and to make it easier to maintain once I'm at goal. I'm hoping it's the good idea it seems like in my head. It's certainly changed my perspective on food, anyway.

Slow is good, but I think it only works if you're in a steady mode, and kind of just see it as your life instead of a big exciting ride to the bottom.

I have no idea which is actually better. You'll probably get where you're going quicker, and the ride will be more exciting...

TheLastStraw, all aboard!! I totally hear you on how fun it is to put on. I find alcohol the awful thing. I can handle 1500 of food but then when I drink, I down a bottle of wine and that's 750 more. I know of some people who have had great success not counting alcohol calories but I haven't found that works for me yet. Ugh- when will wine and cheese be calorie free? Its 2014!

Jesslan- I know, I totally need to. I find it hard to do both the food and workout part. Like, my calories are mentally draining. I also walk an hour a day total through snow on the way to school so in my head, that counts- I need to do strength training though!!

Faiora- You are totally wise! Slow and steady wins the race! I feel the same as when I was painting my house a few weeks ago. "OKAY! IM READY!" and then a few coats in, it was all "omg....am I still doing this?" Your post is a good reminder to keep at it. Thank you!

I've had a fantastic week so far, whoosh wise. I attended a conference in Yellowknife a few weeks ago and in 4 days, I HAD MCDONALD'S 9 TIMES. My body got so mad at me that I ballooned 7 lbs and felt sick. I'm back at pre-Yellowknife weight now and I am headed in the right direction still! It's like that scene in Titanic where the giant engines slowly begin to go in reverse!!!

Yeesh! You already walk more than I do. LOL For the most part I walk 50 mins (1 3/4 Miles) four/five times a week. I haven't started any strength training mostly because with RA my wrists can't lift much. LOL

Your poor tummy! I've been curious to watch that movie where that guy only ate McDonald's for, what was it.., a year I think? I just never got around to it yet. LOL

LOL. I sound like the horse. Want to hurry up and race to the finish but then stop to graze first.

Last time I went to McDonalds, I had serious stomach pain. Dr said probably due to high fat

Guess my body got use to eating healthier.

Totally feel you. The first few weeks it was all WHEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! through 35# and then... it's like my horse just sat down. In the middle of the field. For absolutely no reason. And then my horse found some sushi in the grass and ate it. All of it. Somehow, the stupid horse managed to wiggle backwards a little.

Thankfully, I have enough discipline for myself AND the horse and am going to be STELLAR for this last week of October so I can start November on the right path.

Horse is going to be very upset if I get to the end and it doesn't. I'm not going back for it though. It's funny how those FAST losses make it seem SO easy and make it SO disappointing when it slows down for one reason or another. Determination, though, is about going even when you don't see the results because one morning, you will get up and weigh and it will be like someone removed 5 # while you slept.
