Default Monday SBD Chat, October 13

Good Morning

Monday is the only day I ever set the alarm since I have to be to work at 530 and I don't ever want to risk the possibility of sleeping through it. I've been up doing chores and the time is soon coming to make my smoothie and hit the road. Fortunately, it's a 2 minute drive. I know someone will have something more exciting to say than I this morning but at least we're up and running.

What's on your agenda today? Stop and say hi!

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Columbus Day and Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

This is just a regular work day for me, though, although the girls will be home. They plan to go on the Foxhunt this morning, while I get caught up on chores, and this afternoon we're going shopping for stuff for their Halloween party.

It was a great weekend and I did get all the summer clothes put away yesterday. Now I just hope I didn't jump the gun too soon! It hasn't been cold enough to turn on the heat yet, but it's been pretty chilly in the morning.

Now, what's for breakfast? Apple pie overnight oats sound good.

Ohh, apple pie overnight oats sounds delish! Your girls have today off, Cottage? My kids don't have off, but DH does. I wonder what plans he has?

Debbie, I hope work goes smoothly and quickly!

The weekend was good....got to rest and rejuvenate (1 week down, 7 to go!). Mondays tend to be crazy, so I'm getting the caffeine in. It is tech appreciation week, so we have goodies for them, and I'm bringing them to lunch tomorrow.

Maybe dh will make a 5 course meal tonight?

Linda, your title was much better than mine! I'm not too creative this time of day. Sounds like your day should go smooth. I've been wondering-are there any forks left? Have a great day

yes, I do get off early today. The restaurant stops eating at 2:30 I usually get to leave somewhere around 130. If I'm the closer sometimes I don't get out until four or 430.

Tammy, I hope your days goes smoothly and that your techs know that you appreciate them.

Okay, enjoying one last cup of coffee then I better get that smoothie made.

Good morning.

I've been waking up too early lately. And I don't like that the days are getting visibly shorter.

Frisbee golf didn't happen. Our friends had to cancel. It was just as well since I spent several hours working on stuff for our foundation when I would have been "golfing." I'm sure DH was more disappointed than I was; we'll have to get out and try on our own soon.

Gym today. Then hair. Big chop. I was growing out my bob so that I could pull it back into a ponytail when I'm in Eucador in January but just can't tand it on my neck. I'd have hung in there if I wasn't going to the spa next week. I don't want to waste time there on my hair! So, back to the bob it is. For now.

More foundation stuff to do today. And some planning needs to get done for our trip to Indianapolis later this week.

Have a great day.

Busy little Beachers! It is our Thanksgiving today and the dogs and are I are going to enjoy every red and gold moment. I will do the Mill postings for the Festival money and drive the "loot" to the night depository. (All banks are closed today.)

Most Canadians do their big TD meal on Sunday and eat leftovers today. Since I don't do the meal, I don't have leftovers but now have TWO turkey carcasses in my fridge. I mentioned to several people last year that I can't make turkey soup without a carcass. I will roast the bones more and make soup later today so the house will at least smell like turkey! I suspect Heather will also bring me hers later today since I mentioned it to her too.

You Beach Babes have no idea how relieved I am that there are no more big events at the Mill and Hall until April. Since we have washrooms, we have to have the Hall open for the five Saturday evenings before Christmas when the Village does "Celebrate the Season" but that's easy peasy. I feel like I'm starting my summer holidays now.

Enjoy your holiday not matter which side of the border. Is Columbus Day a stat holiday down there?

Another coffee coming up to celebrate my "summer" vacation.

Good morning

HAppy Thanksgiving Ruth and any canucks lurking. You are right we had our family meal yesterday and leftovers today. It wasn't turkey. It 2as a french cuisine theme meal

I think I'm over jetlag just sitting and digesting everything we saw. We rented a car and put over 2300km on it in two weeks. I had a glass of wine with supper yesterday but hopefully willstay away from it till Christmas. I have to share this with you, we went to a wine festival and there was a 2 man band band playing. Suddenly they start singing country roads take me home with a very french accent, lol. That song will never be the same
Time to get back into routine, now were is my knitting. Dh is still in bed
take care

Yeah I finally made it to check in. DS is home and I am enjoying spending time with him. Thankfully I am off today and tomorrow. We are going shopping both grocery and Walmart as he could use a few things. I didn't stick up before he came home which is good for me as there is nothing tempting to eat. My weight had been on an upward climb. Thankfully I have seen much needed whooshes this week.

Wednesday I leave for a three day conference. One night is semi formal for dinner. I still don't have anything to wear. Maybe it is me, but I find clothing is cheaply made. I don't want pants that stretch. I just want classic trousers. so I don't need to wear spanx underneath them lol

Oh well, time to finish coffee and read everything I've been missing.

Happy Thanksgiving Ruth and Sophie

Hi everyone,
Today is a holiday here for some - school is closed for my son, but I have to work! That's ok - he's doing an all day Minecraft computer workshop (his dream come true). My house is a disaster area and I MUST go home at lunch and do some tidying up. Mondays are always hard...

Things continue to be difficult re: my parents. They are so stubborn. My mom refuses to consider that now possibly they should look at getting help in the house or moving to an assisted living facility. Tomorrow they have an appointment with a geriatric specialist so that may change things. We'll see...hope everyone has a great day today.

Hey All!

I'm not new to this site, but I've been away for some time. The good news is I'm not as heavy as I once was, the bad news is I still haven't reached my goal. SO today my mom and I are getting Back on the Beach! We have both had success in the past (mom lost 75 lbs!) but have put weight on for various reasons. Hoping to stop in from time to time and say hello. I love the recipes on this site, and the forums are a great way to stay accountable. Thanks, ladies, wish my luck!

Afternoon, chicks! Busy morning full of chores, both inside and outside. DH and I have the day off from school which is so nice. It was such a lovely day yesterday DH grilled chicken and burgers so supper is virtually ready. I just need to cook some veggies and luckily I picked brussel sprouts from the garden yesterday.

I'm going to try to sneak in a quick nap and then go back outside to cut down some perennials.

Happy Holiday- whichever one you are celebrating!

Happy THanksgiving Canadian neighbors!

Sophie - I love John Denver, and don't want to even think of that version!

Jekel - I love LLBean khakis. They're the only ones that seem well made, real fabric, and hold up to me crawling on the floor all the time.
