Default The Plus Side - New Look for Full-Figured Fashion

http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/20.../bigger-better

Worth reading. Especially:

-the point that until the 1960's women's 'ideal' body shape was "curvy and feminine".

-a former plus-sized model quoted that size 8 models would wear body padding for ad shoots. !!!

-well-known designers who produce plus-size fashions - anonymously

-Macy's using size 12 models to sell clothing to size 24 women (sure that's not restricted to Macy's.)

-the effect of bloggers!

Well, the thing about using size 12 models to sell clothes to size 24 women makes sense in that the same thing is done for the more common clothing sizes. Ads use size 2 models to sell clothes to size 12 women.

Not that it makes a whole lot of sense overall. It just seems to be the same for plus size as it is for everything else.
