Default hello, i am new here

Hello everyone
I want to lose 40 to 50 pounds. I've quit smoking recently(2 weeks) and find it difficult to control my appetite. How do I avoid overeating? Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Nishita, welcome

Is it your appetite that's increased or do you just need something to do with your hands (i.e. grabbing food) in place of lighting up? The hand-to-mouth habit is super tough to break, at least it was for me. I read once that a cigarette craving lasts about 9 minutes...maybe look at it as finding something to distract yourself for 9 minutes other than reaching for a cigarette or a snack?

And if you really are just hungrier - veggies! If you have to overeat something, I would think that's the best option to go overboard on

Hi Nishita- smoking is so hard to quit, you're fighting the habit and the addiction. Good for you!! Unless youre limiting carbs, watermelon is a great food to go to town on. Fills a little of the sweet craving, helps keep you hydrated and is just soo darn good!
