July just whizzed by - one more day left. It's a good thing I didn't write down all the things I meant to do during the month.
Another rainy day is on tap today - on tap is a good expression for the weather lately. We seem to be waterlogged most of the time. At least the lawns are green and lush and wells aren't running dry.
Millie continues to fit in well and I can see the day coming when I'll have two small furries on the bed at night. For now she and Jazz sleep on their own beds in the back room but ... They are really getting along well - even sharing food! The best gift you can give your dog is another dog. Jazz goes with me to Pet Therapy today and it will be the first time Millie has been alone. We'll see if she gets into mischief.
That chicken thing I did in the crockpot was not good at all even though I added seasonings. The other serving will be made into soup today - chicken and veggie soup with some ww noodles, I think. At 56º it's cool enough for soup and feels like fall.
Time for another coffee and a kitchen spiffing. What's on your agenda - after coffee, of course! ?
Mmmm, your soup sounds yummy, it is quite chilly here this AM. I did enjoy my chili last night! (DS, who is 11, said he wouldn't eat it because "who eats chili in July?!?!" even though it's one of his favorite meals. Once he learned he couldn't play his kindle if he didn't eat it, well, you can guess ....) Ruth, maybe I should tell DH I need another dog?!
I haven't checked our weather for today...not sure if it's raining again or not. I do know I can't even get to my third tomato plant, they're all so monstrous, and only the cherry tomatoes are ripe so far.
Nothing exciting except work. I'm still quite enjoying it, and dealing with the fact I'm only supposed to be there a year. We'll see what the next 6 months bring, and decide after that. It's not all roses and unicorns, there's a few issues I'm dealing with, but at least that lets you know I do see the problems too!
Whoopie for Wednesday! My bags are all packed, boarding passes printed out, and I'm ready! I'm catching the 11am train into the city, then the short NJ one over to Cherry Hill where Monica will meet me, then we'll be on our way to the Trenton airport for our flight to Milwaukee.
I'm not taking my laptop along, but I'll have my kindle and phone, so I'll be able to keep up with you all and check in occasionally. Be good and don't give Ruthie a hard time!

Linda, have a wonderful holiday. You definitely deserve it. I bet Carley is super-excited. Hugs to all!
Thanks, Ruthie! Yes, Carley is very excited. She misses her big sister so much. I know it's going to be pretty hard for her to say goodbye to her next week.
Arghhh! I hate it when I manage to lose my post!!!
Cottage, have a great trip! I miss my sister and wish I could spend more time with her. Ruth, good to hear the dogs are getting along so well. DH and I were thinking about getting one, does this mean we actually need 2? Tammy, chili would be appropriate here today since it's chilly this morning. Glad you were able to make DS see the light- isn't parental bribery great?
It is sad to see July wrap up...I love summer vacation....
Time for coffee and an omelet. Have a great day, chicks!
Tammy "a herd of turtles" had me laughing. Love it and so true of me lately.
Ruth my two pups are inseparable. Coconut at 14 pounds is the boss in the neighborhood. I really hope he is ok when Mick's time comes. With my horrendous schedule it is not fair to bring a new dog home. I figure when that time comes, Coconut will just go more places with me. Since he is small he is easy to manage. I can bring his crate too which is a big help. Hopefully though I don't have to worry about it anytime soon. Mick is still puppy like at almost 15!
Nothing new or exciting. I am quite still today. Had my final synvisc injection yesterday. This one hurt lol. I am going to baby myself a little today as I work tomorrow. The other Sgt is on vacation all week (nice guy, but makes me nuts). At least it is only a 3 day work week.
DS tool list is almost complete. Only need a few more things for his dorm. So glad I had my retro check or the added expenses would have been a challenge. I think his dad should be kicking in for books, etc, but his business isn't doing too well right now.
Time to get my food prep done for the week. Phase 1 here I come....again....oh except for the cherries and peaches. Going to make them my before bed snack. They are almost gone, but I refuse to waste food. Too expensive and delish!!!
I puttered around and now it's getting time to head to the pool! We had a great drive over yesterday and our gas up here confirmed we got 40m/gal with the new car! That turns a $60+ RT into $22. As much as we are back and forth I believe the new car will pay for itself.
Add me to the list...can't believe it's the end of July. Oh, well. I'm hoping this next Winter isn't quite so chaotic.
Still recovering from spending 8 hours in the ER with Tim yesterday. He is okay, acute gastritis, but it was a long, scary day. Hoping for enough sleep tonight to feel better tomorrow. I'll be here for coffee, probably the second serving
