Default What a difference _______ makes!

I know we've all been amazed at some point at what a difference something has made.

I asked the Maintainers in this forum " What made the difference for you between making goal and maintaining and just another failed attempt? " I was trying to decide whether to embark on yet ANOTHER weight loss attempt or just say screw it and give up.

What a difference their answers have made to how I approached weight loss this time! I've finally accepted what I need to do for the long term, and the results have been nearly 40 lbs lost in 4 months and confidence that this WILL be the last time.

What has made a huge difference for you?

Maybe it's " What a difference cutting out Dr. Pepper makes! " or " What a difference walking 20 minutes a day makes when you do it for 3 months " or " What a difference losing 150 lbs. has made in my life ".

Maybe someone reading your post will say " What a difference this post made for me! "

What a difference cutting sugar and flour has made for me. I don't feel like such a slave to my relentless cravings. It's not always easy, but I feel like I can live this way for the rest of my life and have a much better quality of life too.

Great thread, btw. Thanks!

What a difference cutting sweets out of diet and running with c25k has done! I still want sweets every now and then, but the NEED isn't there anymore

^This, for sure. It's not even about the calories burned, for me. When I start the day with a 3-4 mile walk, it helps reduce my appetite for the day and definitely makes my mood better. I think my whole family can tell when I haven't had my daily walk! So because of that, I make better food choices and my stress level is much more manageable, and that's why walking has made all the difference for me. (Oh, and some days it's running instead of walking, but 80% of the time it's walking.)

What a difference the absence of guilt has made in my life. I used to torrure myself with self doubt, and self loathing over every food infraction. By relieving myself of guilt I am able to make better decisions without fretting.

Also, what a difference tai chi has made in my life. I feel so much calmer and more focused.

Getting on that treadmill every single day. I am up to 3 miles most mornings. On days that I really don't feel like doing it I at least make my self do 1 mile. While I am watching what I eat everyday my main focus lately has been the numbers on the treadmill and not the scale. I listen to Pandora on my ipad while I walk and I have been taking a pic of the treadmill screen when I am done so I can be 100% accurate when I chart my progress.
