Default Trendy Thursday Beach Chat for 07/24/14

Good morning, ladies! Two days in a row now...let's hope I can keep this up!!!

Been a pretty q-word night at work, but that's nothing new. So weird going from my old agency where we had 10 people working and received around 1,000 calls a night to one where we have 2 people working and receive anywhere from NO calls to 7 or 8 calls in one night. I'm not complaining, though!

Didn't realize until I got to work that I left my chicken broccoli alfredo at home (I love the alfredo sauce recipe listed here). Instead I picked the other half of my spaghetti squash that had nothing on it. Luckily I had made a side salad to go with it, so I still had that and the wheat thins I keep in my locker.

What's everybody's plans for today? I only have two uniforms, so I have to put laundry on when I get home and then I'll head to bed so I can get up early and fix the other half of that spaghetti squash. Maybe it'll taste better after a round trip to work with me!

Hope everybody has a great day! It's been nice being back.

Good morning, Natasha and chicks to follow. I'd forgotten you worked the night shift and it's nice to "see" someone in here when I peep in,

The vet appointment went well yesterday - Millie is in good health and charmed everyone with her quirky crooked smile. Liz and Moel came down after supper and their little Milo had a great playtime in the yard with my two. Dogs sure know how to party!

All the schoolwork display work is done and I am going to avoid the Fair Hall this morning while the rest of the judging is done - sewing, crafts, baking - and do my own "homecraft" here since I forgot to get that big pork stew started. I may avoid the Mill today after I've opened up and made sure we are staffed. The Village will be busy with Fair visitors for the next four days and lots of them will tour the Mill.

Time to crank up my Thursday by browning the meat and throwing it into the crockpot before I shower.

Hope your day is a god one.

Good morning! Natasha, you give new meaning to being the "early bird". Bummer to hear about leaving your lunch home.

Ruth, just admit it: somehow you will get dragged into a last minute fair chore today, even if you are planning on avoiding the Mill.

Me? Laundry, and not sure what else. Maybe something exciting like some cleaning.

I've got coffee, anyone need some?

Good morning Natasha, Ruth, and those to come.

Natasha, speaking of spaghetti squash, my single plant has at least a dozen squash on it, and some are huge! It's a good thing I love it, but I'll be freezing quite a lot of it!

Ruth, it sounds like it's going to be a rare quiet day at your house today!

It's going to be a showery morning here, so it's a good thing that the girls and I have shopping in our plans. The sun should be out by noon, and we're hoping to come back here to my house for some pool time for the rest of the afternoon.

I bought some nice peaches from a local orchard yesterday, and am about to cut one up into my yogurt for breakfast.

Have a great OP day!

Oooooh, Cottage - a fresh peach sounds delightful!

Beth - your comment on Ruth is spot on!

Ruth - I'm with Beth . Glad the new Minnie fits in so well.

Natasha - so great to see you stopping in!

I just had a good 4 mile walk/run, I've been trying to work up my distance again. The dog had a great time, and then ran around like a complete fool when she got back. (I bet Minnie would've loved to be there!)

Our sitter loved my zucchini apple salad, which is great since it was only okay by me. I didn't quite care for the texture...eh, it was okay. I'll find some new good recipes .

Good morning.

I have hip PT this morning and hair cut/color this afternoon. Might get a grocery run in today or that will wait until tomorrow. Going to make that zucchini "lasagne" dish again today. Yes, I'm liking it that much at the moment At least I'm actually cooking!

Enjoy your day.

Did my quick trip to the Mill and gave the staff some instructions. They have decided to be in period costume during the Fair - all on their own. The guys were easy but poor Hilary is in a boned Victorian dress with a bustle.

The big pork stew for the Fair directors is in the crockpot. I had small new potatoes that I scraped rather than cook in the skins - call me fussy! I am going to take a short training walk with Millie a bit later to see how she will freak out at the rides and machines.

The rest of the day is all MINE!!!!!!!
