Smile Hello There :)

Hello<3
My name is Kelly. Im very new to this and kind of hesitant to do this but here it goes. I've been overweight my WHOLE life! It has controlled my whole life as well. I let it get in the way of me graduating high school, college, having a normal life. Im 26 years old and the last time I got weighed was when I had emergency surgery for my gallbladder. It was embarrassing and it is now. My weight was 366 and probably has gone up since. I don't have much of a life, I do work but other than that I sit in my room and go on my computer. Yes, I know a typical overweight lazy person, but I have realized something, I need a change! I want to have a life and go out and have fun and travel. I have many dreams and time is only passing me by. I hope that this first step will get me started!

congratulations on making a decision to make some changes! there are a number of forums around here - feel free to jump in wherever you're comfortable.

I believe in self-fulfilling prophecies and the importance of self-talk. If you believe that you're a lazy person, well, there ya go! But, if you believe that you are making changes for your health, and you believe that you can walk, say 1/4 mile today, [or more if you feel like it], then VOILA! a change in how you view yourself.

Weight loss is a journey, not a race. there are A LOT of factors that go into it - what you eat, why you eat, when, how much, some form of excercise for your cardiovascular system and your muscles - and it's impossible to change everything at once.

So, what's first, now that you've signed up here? [BTW, IMO, the Exercise Forum has some of the best info for people who've never exercised or who have some limitations]

Default New here as well, and am so ready for a change :)

Hey Kelly
I am at 254 right now and have also been big my whole life.
But today is the day to finally make a healthy change.
Not just a diet, but a healthier way to eat and live!
