Talking Back again...

Hello everybody! I have been a member of 3fc for a REALLY long time. I have left and come back too many times to count. Today I am at the highest weight I have ever reached. A whopping 212 lbs which on a 4 foot 11 inch body looks like 400. I have recently (June 16th) began another attempt at weight loss. I hope to find and give support here like I always have. I have also started a weight loss journey blog if anyone is interested in interacting with me there, and reading about the success and failures I encounter. Here's to all of us , still pushing, and never giving up!

Hi I haven't been a member here but a whole whopping two days, but I'm happy to see that you are positive about losing weight, as we all strive to be. I will definitely check out your blog as I'm always looking for inspiration to get me going right before a workout

Nice to meet you

@sophiasmom Welcome! Of course, we are alive and all have the ability to try for what we want out of life, how can anyone feel negative about that! I hope to be a source of inspiration for you and you for me. How have your first two days here been? How is your journey so far?

They've been pretty good. Thanks for asking. I've worked out and I've eaten right so that's something, lol. After reading your blog post, I can see we have something in common. I like working out. I feel INCREDIBLE when I'm done. It's just a matter of getting to the task at hand. I can talk and think about how awesome it would be to work out and lose weight but the majority of the time I make up excuses as to way "I don't feel like it today.." That's when I decided to join here and run through a list of blogs and Pinterest pins that pump me up to get motivated to get up and just go workout. After reading and watching videos (while listening to some good music) I'm ready to go take on the world, haha.

Are you incorporating a healthy way of eating with your classes? If so, mind sharing? I'm currently counting calories and think I'm doing it right. I've done south beach and weight watchers in the past, but figured with counting calories, I can still enjoy all foods just with simple moderation.

@Desiderata Swolmates! haha Thanks! I felt fed up with myself and my laziness so I enrolled in 4 hours of fitness class M-Th at my community college. I know it's overboard but I figure if I can last these 6 weeks it'll be the little kick start I need to keep going! So Im doing a hip hop class and a weight training class. I picked hip hop to help me with my confidence and to fight my insecurities and weight training to be around people that inspire me and give me something to strive for. What is your plan of attack?

@SophiasMom I do the same thing. It's amazing that we can talk ourselves out of just about anything haha. That's amazing!!! I'm so happy you are on the right path! I also lurk around the internet finding inspiration. I just started an instagram account to go with my blog where I am trying to be that inspiration to others (which is crazy bold of me, and so out of character) You know who you should check out if you haven't heard of him, Eric Thomas. He is my favorites I'll put some quotes at the end to share. Counting calories def. works! That is how I lost weight the one and only time I was kind of successful. I am currently on the same plan. I eat 6 times a day, small meals. I am a bit of an extremist and I know some of the choices I make aren't the healthiest for me but my frustration with my body has outweighed reason most of the time so with that disclaimer I am only eating 1200 calories a day. I think that is too low considering I'm also working out but I'm impatient. Some of the things that make eating easier for me is using an alarm on my phone to go off every 2 hours so that I remember to snack. I am also kind of a lazy cook haha (so much self bashing lol) so my favorite breakfast is overnight banana oats! You just put your oats in a tupperware add the suggested amount of mile (almond milk for me , I get the 30 cal vanilla kind) and then I mash in a banana and mix well and put in the refridge over night. In the morning it's amazing! I'm not a fan of hot oatmeal (poor me I live in sunny SD) so it's refreshing and you stay pretty full unlike cereal. I also get 7 grain whole wheat bread and low cal strawberry jam and healthy peanut butter and I use the entire loaf to make a bunch of PB&J's and then I wrap them individually and put them back in the loaf bag and freeze. Everyday I throw one sandwich in my bag for later once it defrosts (tastes like you just made it!) I also use cauliflower for rice ( just wash, throw in a food processor, save and heat when you're ready to use) and I use spiralized zucchini instead of pasta (spiralizer from ross was 10 bucks! and I use it to make my carrots and cucumbers fancy for salads) I hope some of this helps! What calorie intake are you aiming for? What kind of workouts are you doing?

Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent. It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not.

I’ve been trying to tell y’all, its’s not your circumstances or situation, that determines if you gonna be successful or not. I’ve been telling you it’s your mindset! It’s the way you see it. It’s the way you think it right!

“You will not experience all life has to offer you or begin to experience life at its fullest as long as you are satisfied with mediocrity. You have to be disgusted with your current circumstances before your circumstances can change.”

“You need your undivided attention.”

“At some point in life you have to face your fears, and head on even though you can’t be sure of the outcome. A great deal of people will never reach their dreams and it won’t have anything to do with their ability or skill set. They won’t reach their dreams because they were too afraid to try.”

These are all incredible ideas! Thanks so much for sharing!! I def want to try the pb and j, for sure - it sounds so easy! I, too, am set at 1200 (but may go up because of a point another user made about once I lose weight, I will need to go down even more). Maybe I'll go up to 1500? Definitely no more than that.

I'm currently doing 2 miles a day on the treadmill. I'm able to complete them in about 25-26 mins. Then, I do either upper body, lower body, or core exercises - alternating them one day after another. I bought a stability ball, a kettle bell, 8lb dumb bells, and a resistance band. It's like I have a mini-gym, lol.

I recently started my own business based out of my home and figured I didn't have any excuse to workout now so I incorporated a "gym break" in my daily routine.

I love your blog (I commented on it). I have one too, but it's very outdated - I haven't posted on it since 2012 when I last took my weight loss seriously. I will say that you have inspired me to get back on to writing on it, though.

I can't thank you enough for writing back and forth with me. It's really nice to talk to someone about this. My husband is a great support system but he has heard this over and over and still remains to be my powerhouse, but sometimes it's nice to talk to someone who can relate. He is in excellent shape and always has been - sometimes I thank my lucky stars a chunky girl like me scored a guy like him (we are high school sweethearts. I was the mascot and he was the quarterback, lol).

Anyway, thanks again. You're awesome!
