Default Wet Wednesday - June 25

And guess what it will be six months from now? Stop the world! I want to get off! It's also pouring rain for another soggy day around here. So much for getting strawberries today.

I'm actually supposed to go around the township to the schools delivering entry tags and picking up some schoolwork that is ready for the Fair. That may have to be delayed a bit since water and children's artwork are not a good mix! Rain is on the agenda for the whole day!

Maybe I'll just light the woodstove and do Christmas cards.

No way I'd be wanting to sit near a woodstove today! It's already pretty warm and the humidity is thick in the air.

I realize I never did get in to post yesterday. It was one of those busy mornings with lots of disruptions, and time got away from me. I did have a lovely reunion with Audrey, and she was eager to tell me the highlights of her trip, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The poor kid was up and wide awake at 3AM, though, so I hope she slept well last night!

This morning is a big day for Audrey, she's getting her braces off! After her appointment I have to drop her off at a pool party. Pop-up T-storms are predicted for the afternoon, so I hope they don't ruin the party! I'm not sure what the plans are for Maggie. We may go catch up with Cindy at a horse show until it's time to get Audrey, or she may want to go shopping for a few things she'll need for camp. I'll let her call the shots.

After work, I plan to take a dip and relax in my pool if the storms hold off! :

Happy Strawberry Parfait Day! Any excuse to eat more strawberries this time of year

Good morning I'm noticing that my posts always seem to start with some version of it's a busy (fill in the blank)" I need to do something about that. I love being busy but not so busy that I miss the good stuff.

Meanwhile in the garden we h ave a woodchuck trying to get in. It dug under the fence and nibbled bean plants and squash leaves. So far the rock are working. I think we have a skunk too. It was in the yard first then we left the garden gate open hoping the dog smell would keep the woodchuck out. Unfortunately that let the skunk in and I found the sad dug up basil plant massacre. I also have some sort of bug n my eggplant. Yup, it's garden season!

I am really enjoying the book Preserving by the Pint, and can't wait to try some of the recipes. I want to make the Oven Roasted Rhubarb Compote but may need to haul the AC out to put the oven on.

And now on to the usual busy day

ETA - I'm admiring your peony picture Ruth. Mine bloomed late one day and were wrecked by heavy rain the next

Good morning,

Ruth we are finally getting sunshine so nice to see. I found out yesterday evening that bad storms hit and did some major damage to the town my inlaws live in and their roof got a bit of damage yet again but my DH uncle trailor was basically totalled...sad

Cottage sounds like you have a busy day ahead again

Cyndi I guess it's a good thing I packed strawberries for my lunch then. The other day I saw 5 woodchucks on the street in front of our house in various locations. We have one that keeps coming under our deck.

I have lots of meetings and then have to take DD2 to Ortho appointment this afternoon. She is supposed to get swim pictures on Saturday but I am not thinking her face is not going to look so hot for pictures still. Worse before it gets better stage.

Have a wonderful day everyone!
