Hi all!
I think i have not seen any before and after of asians who successfully got a fair amount of weight down.
I am curious because i read somewhere that asians' skin have bigger possibility of shrinking back after weight loss because of our skin type, is it true?
Asian here, too. Already at goal weight. Recently switched our eating lifestyle to Paleo. My heaviest was 140lbs, then its yo-yo after that. Gain-lose, gain-lose. Until last year, I started yoga, zumba and joined the gym with my hubby. Been maintaining for a year now. I didnt have problem with the "extra skin", being asian kinda helped in that department. Good luck with the weight loss. If you are looking for before and after photos, here's the link to my goal story.
I'm half Asian. I lost 25 pounds (went from 170 to 145) but gained 17lbs back unfortunately. Going through a break-up and living back in a dorm with caf food really did a number on me...
I've noticed a lack of Asian before-and-afters, as well, but then again, the sample size of overweight Asians is smaller to begin with as Asians are generally slim. When I reach my goal weight, I'll let you know if that elasticity myth holds out. But if you don't have that much weight to lose (less than 40lbs or so) and you steadily lose (as opposed to losing all at once), you will likely not have extra skin.
@tardyfortheparty yes! I guess that's the reason why I dont see much asian. And even if there is, the before and after difference is only of probably less then 50lbs... unfortunately I have more then 100lbs to lose so I am really worried..
@pixelllate Wow you look really skinny but no sign of extra skin AT ALL! seems like your starting weight was not that high to begin with?
It was high, but I have a big bone structure/wide frame in real life - shaped like my 5'7'' mother -we share shoes, so I tend to look leaner than other featherweight Asians/other smaller boned people.
