Default Thursday Thoughts - June 12

Good morning from soaking wet Delta! We are under a rain warning - crazy since it's been pouring rain since this time yesterday morning. The good news is that all the yellow pollen is washed off my car! Today and tomorrow the rain "warning" continues - a real gully buster!

Did a goodly amount of yesterday and can even see the glass top of my desk. It's nice to feel in control of paperwork even if it only lasts a day. I didn't go to the bank and must do that today for sure. I don't like having large amounts of $$$ around, especially since the whole Village knows how many treasurer jobs I have. I frequently mention that I have a "safe". Around here, the only break-ins seem to be in isolated homes outside the Village.

Today is provincial election day here in Ontario. I sure hope there is a good turn-out despite the rain. I detest folk who don't to vote and then complain about the government. Word does get around - small towns are like that.

Off I go to vote this morning - sloshing through the rain. I do have a lovely Monet waterlilies rain cape which makes it quite easy.

Hope your Thursday is a good one. Make it so.

Ruth, your rain cape sounds lovely. Hope you stay dry today in your errands!

I haven't looked at the weather, but need to...especially in planning father's day for Sunday. DH just said he'd like to go canoeing.

Yesterday was quite busy, and we'll see how today goes. I am doing my first staff meeting, which I'd like to be pretty low key. I also plan to bribe them with goodies, which shall not be named in a SBD forum .

I forgot to make my overnight oats, so I suppose I'll make some eggs quick. I did make my beet salad though. It held me fantastically yesterday.

Onward HO!

I'm looking at a pretty good Thursday, considering we're under heavy rain warnings for today and tomorrow, and it's been raining all week. BUT! It's my Friday!

I have to stop at the store on my way to the farm for 24 party snacks to send home with the kids for Maggie's class party. I got the call at 8:30 last night. And this was after I asked Maggie if she needed to take anything for the party, and she told me no. I'm thinking yogurt covered pretzels and hoping I can find them in individual bags. Her class is also putting on a skit for family, so Cindy is going to the morning one and I'm going to the afternoon performance. And I'm hoping to get home early today since I've been going in early and staying late all week!

Oh, I almost forgot ---- CONGRATULATIONS, CYNDI!

Tammy, You can still do a decent version of overnight oats, just mix it up and pop it in the microwave for a minute. It works almost as well as soaking them overnight!

Good morning! Just a quick flyby as I finish my smoothie.

Ruth, we are rain-drenched here as well; Mother Nature treated us to a massive downpour both yesterday and overnight. Your rain cape sounds very nice. Did you see the news story circulating about the high school girl who took a $50 wedding dress and painted Van Gogh's Starry Night onto it? Looks lovely. Personally, I don't have any artistic talent.

Tammy, glad to hear the fist few days of this job are going well. And I agree, food bribery is a good way to go! In fact, my principal recently mentioned dark chocolate bribes with regards to next year's class schedule.

Okay, need to move. Ruth, did you take out your garbage yet? Mine goes out today as well which is why I remembered.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

ETA: Morning, Cottage!

Good Morning

I've already had a self-induced stressful morning. Internet has been really bad and I had 2 payments that had to go in today, one being our monthly payroll tax deposit toIRS. They don't forgive. I finally got it done and now I'm running behind. I was going to post some pictures of our Finished project but that will have to wait....work calls and the house is a disaster!

Congrats, Cyndi!

Stay dry Ruth!

Have a great day everyone!

Beth, yes, I did lug the garbage to the road. I'll see if I can find a picture of my lovely rainwear. I have a matching little purse that I bought in Philly a month ago - not that one wears a wee bag when garbed for a deluge.

Good morning.

Rain here too but it is supposed to clear by afternoon.

I didn't realize I hadn't stopped by yesterday. I got called into work. Then DH and I went to the mall to get some insoles. I was quite frustrated when I discovered before bed last night that they gave me the wrong ones! So today I'll be going back to the mall. Sigh. I will probably run a few other errands as well. I've been buying and returning clothes. On a kick with new exercise clothes, which my mother, aka my workout partner, much appreciates.

Cyndi - Exciting!

Have a great day.
