Thought I'd take a minute to say hello and get us started before I head back downstairs and forage for more coffee! It's my early day at work....I start at 5:30 so I'd best get organized now. It was crazy bu$y at work ye$terday which was exciting! I think the summer crowds are showing up as we have high water and lots of rafting right now. Food has been good which I'm always grateful for. I get off early today so mom and I might run down to Denver for a little bit of shopping.
Good morning and thanks to Debbie for starting us up. You sure are one busy chick!
Fly-by post as I "slept in" and have things to get done before I start my supervisory duties at The Mill. I sure miss having a mill manager! I had planned to have the staff do some outside work - painting and flowers - but it's raining so they will be sorting archived stuff - paper and actual artifacts. We also have to take some racks back to our new baker and take her some flour for this Saturday's bread order of 48 loaves. I'm hoping to be able to stay home and just be available on the phone for problems but we'll see how the day goes.
Good morning! I hope you found your coffee in your foraging, Debbie! Your waitressing at the diner sounds like fun, you must meet a lot of really interesting people from all over. Have a great day and a nice time shopping with mom.
Yesterday was crazy busy but I should manage to get off a little earlier than usual today since Audrey is going home with a friend and I'll only have to take Maggie to flute then be able to head back home. We still have guests from England staying at the house, but they're a delightful bunch and very interesting to talk to.
Now it's time for me to go look for more coffee!
ETA- Good morning, Ruth!

Debbie, I keep wondering if I'd be able to handle waitressing. That's a tough job! I agree with Cottage, probably very interesting with all the different people coming in.
Ruth, I don't remember, what happened to the mill manager? Out of budget? It sounds like it might be a rough summer for you!
Cottage, did you find your coffee?
My last day (LOL, I only had 2!) off between jobs. Yesterday was busy but great. The kids had a fantastic time out at a student's farm, the weather was perfect. DS went to a student's house with a pool, I was a bit ticked off because he is BURNT.
Today is a little more laid back. Getting a cat scratch checked out...a tiny scratch, but part of my hand is numb from it now. A little momento from my job? I'm making a dinner for a neighbor that had a baby 6 weeks ago, pulled pork on the smoker. I was hoping to take a hike, but looks like it might storm. We'll see how bad it gets. And, a NAP!!
I put overnight oats in the fridge for breakfast. YUM!
Too funny Beth I didn't even notice. My first thought was today was my grandpa's birthday I should eat strawberries lol.
Debbie waitressing is not only $$$ with tops, you get great exercise. I bet you have really toned arms!!!
Tammy hope your hand is OK and yes there has been a 3.2 whoosh over two days. I'm sure cycling helps with that too as I have been sweating with the sun!!!
Good morning Linda and Ruth
Had a wonderful evening with Joe just enjoying the nice weather. He hung in there for 23 miles and was not winded and only struggled up one big hill....don't tell him so did I I made a yummy salad for our lunch and brought raw red pepper strips for my study snack. We hit the diner for buffalo chicken salads after our ride (awesome BTW). Just getting ready for coffee with Ed, followed by a ride and then home to study.....maybe in my beach chair today.
Ruth I hope you get to stay home today and not have to go in
Tywnn hope your hand is not infected
Beth enjoy your day
Jekel sounds like you had a nice ride with Joe. I eliminated grains and had a whoosh as well on the scale.
My Dentist yesterday told me to quit chewing gum and they may order a mouth guard to help with my jaw pain I have been having. At least no cavities.
Today I am wfh and the sun is shining so very nice start to the morning. I have to run DD2 to volleyball camp and then we have Ortho appointment this afternoon and then swim practice.
Jeez too late to see the thread date. Is there some sort of competition going on
ruth. I think you should store the phone in the lake for the summer
cottage I hope its an early day for you
tammy. Do enjoy your free day.
Beth. We had a little 6 year old over yesterday and his mom reminded of the time when he was 3 he said to me. My mom's a teacher and my dad is just human(chemical engineer)
Jen. You are in one good shape but then you do wrestle those bad guys to the ground
pearlrose. Wearing a guard is a good thing. Wish someone had told me how important it is.
Debbie busy but the $ are a nice reward
cyndi. Not like you to sleep in
off to my dreaded dr this afternoon. I should say my very rude dr but its so hard tofind a new one and maybe I will even plant some tomatoes

I've been online all morning sucked back into genealogy. Yesterday afternoon my father's original birth certificate arrived in the mail. Unfortunately it didn't have his father on there and I had already learned his biological mother's name, but it was pretty exciting. I think I have figured out his biological maternal grandparents and at least one uncle. All deceased now, of course. My goal is to find someone still living!
Anyhow, I've come to a good stopping point so will unglue my fingers from the keyboard to eat lunch and shower. I work this afternoon. Been eating too much yummy summer fruit lately; will need to cut back if I want to drop the couple of pounds that have been hanging on since I went gluten-free.
Rose - I haven't chewed gum since my last crown fell off a year ago. Have worn a mouth guard at night for decades. Hope you find relief.
