Smile IP Alternatives for Washington foodies and parents of toddler

Hello Everyone,

My husband and I have been looking into starting IP alternatives soon. We live in Washington and are the parents of a very active 2 1/2 year old son. I am 34 and my husband is 33. We have struggled with weight issues our entire lives and we love our food, but alas our relationship with food has become toxic and we need to learn better eating habits.

I am trying to gather as much info from this site as possible about IP alternatives before we start so we can be as prepared as possible. I am very thankful to all the wonderful people on here who have shared their journey and their wisdom with all of us newbies, and who will continue to inspire us on our own. Thank you

Welcome, I don't know what you mean by alternatives to the idea protein diet?

Personally, I don't like eliminating certain foods while bulking up on others to lose weight. I think it's counter productive to our genetics. After all we have been eating meat, potatoes and vegetables for centuries now. The problem is we eat to much for our activity level.

So I eat healthier, try to cut out as much sugar as I can and eat less, and that works for me. I don't get cravings for certain foods, because I didn't eliminate them, so 2 pieces of bread turned into one, and a piece of cake turned into a sliver.

The key to losing weight and staying in shape is simply eat less, move more. Calories consumed versus calories burned.

Welcome to this board, you'll find all the information you need right here.

Welcome! On the IP sub forum you'll find a lot of information from folks that are using IP or IP alternatives.
