Post Hi, New Here -- Nice to meet you people (:

Hi (:
My name is Maggie.
I am here to try to get support and recieved advice from people
who are also trying to lose weight in a healthy manner.

INFO:
Height: 4'11
Weight: 162.4 lbs.
Ethnicity: Filipino, Asian
Age: 20
Weight Goal: 125 lbs.

Most people tell me I'm young and I could still be able to lose weight.
But here is the thing. I don't believe in diet.
I just change my eating habbit to smaller portions,
but that really doesn't help me much.
Since I tend to crave. What I also did is bought the exercise video
T25. What I also don't like is, muscles.
I want to lose fat without gaining any muscles.
Another thing is I can't go a day without eating white rice.
I mean since I was young I've always eat that.
And I am not a very in to vegetables. Specially dark green color one.

Thanks for looking at my post, and I hope I can get some advice. Thank you. (:

Welcome to the board. First of all it's muscles that are the fat burner in our bodies. Women can gain muscle without looking bulky. It's called lein muscle mass.

The problem you're having is you're consuming too many calories a day. It doesn't matter if you're eating rice, the problem is you're eating too much of it.

A balanced diet with fruits and vegis is good for you. Calories are calories regardless if you get them from rice or fruits and vegetables. But to get the proper nutrients in your eating habits you should incorporate all of them.

Make your plan based on your goal weight. You can do this by uploading a free app to your computer or smart phone called myfitnesspal. Be faithful about entering the food and the amount you're eating, to give you an accurate picture of how many calories you're consuming in a day.

I would strongly suggest you find fruits and vegis that you like, and lay off the rice. White rice has very little nutritional value, no protein in it, that you find in lean meats and fish. Protein is something that builds muscle so you can burn more fat.

Good luck to you, you've got a lot of changes to make, and a lot of learning to do. The good news is, you've come to the right place.
