Earth Day is starting out sunny and warm here, but the day is supposed to end with thunderstorms. Hopefully I can get some gardening done this afternoon and let Mother Nature do the watering.
I don't know what awaits me at the farm since I had an extra day off, but I'm sure I'll be busy and the girls have music lessons after school, which means today is my long day.
I did reasonably well all weekend with my eating, but I caved and had some mashed potatoes and a dinner roll at supper yesterday, and oh boy did I ever pay for it with the heartburn all night! Today it's strictly back on-plan for me!
Enjoy the day and try to do something special for Earth Day!
Tiptoe because we don't want to scare Spring away. No tulips here so far but I do have crocuses, scillas and my snowdrops. Today we have rain which I ordered specially to finish cleaning off my back deck. (I didn't realize what a mess birds made hanging around the feeder!)
So glad the Festival weekend is over! Friday, Saturday and Sunday were just jammed with work. I was very glad to have Monday free although I did balance the bucks and lug them to the Bank. Jazz was tired too after three days of waiting for me to come home and guarding the house all by himself.
The Mill Exec meets here today and I'll so the usual coffee and squares or cookies for the guys. Anna and I stick with just coffee. I am sincerely hoping we will be done by noon. I am working very hard at eliminating some of the stuff I get stuck with since May is looking packed right now - and it's still April, right? We have several new and enthusiastic members but I can hardly offload accounting stuff on them.
Jazz has gone back to bed and I suspect he'll be there for the day if the drizzle continues. Just as well since Lake Sheridan is draining away and it's pretty darned muddy out there.
On we go with Tuesday - which feels like Monday to me after the holiday yesterday.
Hi Cottage. I paid for my sins a bit too last night. I had one of those Dr Oetker mushroom pizzas we've eaten and it decided to keep me awake for a while. Carb guilt? Now that I think of it, I did have heartburn.
Good morning chicks! We made it home safe and sound last night. I'm hoping my GI bug is done with, last few days a I wake up fine, and by afternoon I'm really nauseous. But today I have to work instead of nap! And after my long day, I have a CE class to take tonight (and a friend is teaching it) so I won't get home until after 9 pm. When does grocery shopping happen?
We did get to go fishing, but that's about the excitement for our Easter weekend. This week I get to go car shopping . I've narrowed it down to the Passat or the Subaru Legacy. At least this week, that's what I've narrowed it down to!
I'm getting my hair done today. Have to do more menu planning and shopping; last time I only could handle a couple of days out.
I had to laugh this morning because I saw something on the floor that looked like hardened ice cream. Sure enough, DH has a gallon hidden under his stash of frozen pizzas. He'd do a better job sneaking it if he didn't leave a trail behind. I do have to appreciate that if he has to bring it home, at least he is making an attempt to not tempt me.
My mom has just booked our next girls spa trip. Seems we are now on an 18 month plan, rather than every other year. Woo hoo!! The only bad thing is we are going in October right after DH and I attend an out-of-town wedding.
Good morning everyone is keeping busy and getting back on track including me. I managed to resist all the leftover goodies people brought into work. I even kept my hand out of the candy at home. Going to clear my head with a bike ride today. A Joe is coming for dinner. I am cooking for a change lol. He is trying to do a strict P1 as he has been slacking lately. I defrosted some filets and will grill veggies with them.
Tammy do your grocery stores reliever or have customer pick up? In a pinch I use these services. You pay a little fee, but so convenient when life isn't.
Amaya proves to be a busy month, but exciting too. In addition to the big ride, my momis coming for a visit. Where she worked is having a reunion. I have decided to push back DS graduation party til August. This way it will be a send off to college party. I do need to take off for my mom's visit and cancel a week's vacation in July.
Now it is time to make my to do lists. Have a terrific Tuesday. Linda I will do an outdoor project for Earth Day. Maybe pick up garbage on the bike path Ruth sounds like the Mill is going to be quite busy this summer.
Work time is quickly approaching and I've finally gotten some bills paid that need to go today. Why are my property taxes due 15 days after IRS? It makes for a dim financial forecast this month.
Food goes good. Karen, I am really making that effort to plan ahead again. It helps me so much.
It looks like it is going to be a pretty day today. I did great and stayed P1 all day yesterday except last night DH and the kids bought me a birthday cake and I felt like I should eat a tiny bit. I will just call today first day of P1. I have to go get my boob squashed this afternoon and then I am hoping to treat myself to a pedi and get some groceries picked up on the way home.
Ruth hopefully the rain will take care of all the bird poo
Cottage maybe not too much on your agenda
Tywnn feel better soon and I hope you pick out a car you love
Karen sounds like fun though with your mom. Had to laugh at your DH hiding of the ice cream
Jekel good job getting back on track.
Debbie thank you. Sorry you have to have everything hit at the same time, I set myself up my own escrow account where I have money coming out of my check into a separate bank that takes care of property taxes and all insurance bills. It has really helped me stay on track and not worry about the bills that do not come in on a monthly basis.
Evening ladies! Sounds like everyone had busy days planned.
Today was back to the grind for me. I must say though, I really appreciate that early morning daylight. The one bummer is the dreary weather today: 50-ish and rainy. At least it isn't snow!
