Default Oh! If I could divide my heart into little pieces...

...and offer them to those enduring terrible, horrible losses now.
The news of the South Korean ferry sinking with hundreds on young people on board...families' hopes being shattered...
Only a few weeks after a plane mysteriously disappeared, carrying hundreds of people to a place no one seems to know about...
I want to share my heart with those families...
But I know I can't.
GOD, PLEASE GIVE THEM THE HEART TO SURVIVE THIS...Please, please, please
My heart is melting...and I'm short of words...I can only offer a silent prayer...
I thought I had grown a tough skin...but wow...things happen. wow...

I find it difficult to watch the news. I hate to be ignorant, but I notice that my anxiety level is much better on days that I don't check in with the news.

Thanks for sharing.

I hope the families of those lost can find peace. I wasn't there, but it sure sounds like the ferry captain and crew messed things up by telling passengers to stay put.

I did see the story and when I see something tragic it's hard not to continuously watch coverage. Gosh I still remember the Sandy Hook day, I listened to the radio non stop and cried non stop for 2 days. Even the thought of it now makes me want to cry. It's important to know what's going on but we can avoid overstimulation of the news. Channels like CNN and MSNBC are designed to keep us riveted to "new developments" while they are on a loop repeating things over and over again making it very difficult to process and there's lots of people out there like me who can't bear it.
