Default Tax Day Tuesday, SBD Chat for 4/15

We're starting out the day at 65*, but it could be snowing tonight! It's hard to believe, after being so warm the last few days. I'll have to remember to bring in my tomato plants!

Today the girls and I are taking the train into the city to see the One Day In Pompeii Exhibition at The Franklin Institute. I've been dying to see it and I'm happy that the girls are looking forward to it, too. It will be a fun way to spend a windy, rainy day. There's a SaladWorks restaurant nearby, so that's where we'll have lunch and I can stay OP.

How's the day shaping up for you?

Oooh, the exhibit sounds awesome Cottage, let us know how it is! Accuweather said it will be 19 tonight, weather.com said 26. I'll take the lesser of two evils. (ick!!) I kinda wonder if the kids will have a delay tomorrow, it might be icy.

I woke up early (whoa! Surprise! <sarcasm>), so went out on a walk. In the rain. Both weather sites had differing opinions on if it was raining or not, but it looked pretty obvious to me . Emma Jean was quite delighted that I did it.

Just a long day at work. We went and looked at cars, and realized the mazda3 is just too small for my tall family (um, all but me!). The mazda6 is great, and then the guy showed me the cx-5. Oh my, I love that one! It gets pretty good gas mileage for an suv (32 mpg) and I would feel way safer in it. I have this paranoia of hitting deer! Does anyone have either the 6 or cx5?

I had taco salad last night for dinner, and made the leftovers for one today so I'll be good. And leftover chili tonight (they didn't touch the 2+ gallons I made the other day...anyone want some?).

Have a great day!

Hi Chicks!

yeah, I got the snow when we returned from Cali Sunday evening. It's pretty much melted but it's still cold. I just got finished printing my extension form...now to find the checkbook. Oh, well. Shower, smoothie and off to work.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning. Spring was pretty short, wasn't it? Right now it's raining with 50ºF but the temp will drop below freezing today and we will be getting the dreaded "mixed precipitation". Probably not a good day to shop in town.

We have a new Mill member who is terrific. Our gift shop in the Mill badly needed a re-org and she has worked there for the past three days! She's moved furniture around, painted a wall, done an inventory of the stock and has all sorts of good ideas. Very refreshing! I do hope her enthusiasm lasts - I'm still looking for mine!

Can't linger this morning as I have to fiddle around with my older sump pump which being quite temperamental. It either works all the time or waits until the water is just over the rim of the sump hole. Methinks I need a new one - too bad that so does everyone else.

Another coffee first and then tackle the day.

Good morning. We had the glorious 80* weather yesterday but now it is 47* and slated to fall to the teens tonight with a chance of snow. I got some raking done yesterday but today will be inside chores. I'm planning on switching out my closet and washing several items to pack away, along with some general cleaning.

Luckily my taxes are long filed so I can drink my coffee in peace.

Good morning.

Linda and Tammy and Ruth - We had that weather yesterday; woke to snowflakes! And colllldddd. Hopefully Spring will return soon.

Debbie - How was your trip?

I'm working the closing shift tonight. I will NOT be wearing my new shoes. I've worn them twice to work and the first time they seemed okay but yesterday one of my arches really started hurting. Darn.

I must run some errands today. Then I plan to read the first book I've picked up in over a week.

Have a great day.

Good morning,

Woke up to 32 degree weather brrrr, it is supposed to drop again tonight and then I really hope we are done as we want to plant some shrubs around the house.

Cottage sounds like you have a fun day planned

Tywnn I have to admit I love SUVs just don't like the price tag that goes with them

Debbie glad the snow has melted have a good day at work

Ruth I love the enthusiasm of new folks and try not to squash it

Beth my taxes are done as well only DS had some money coming out of his account today since he owed figured I would schedule it for the due date lol.

Karen darn I hate that when your arch starts to hurt. I ended up buying a pair of Dr. Scholl's expensive inserts (the machine at walmart) and my arch does not hurt when I wear them in my shoes, so I can still buy the shoes that are stylish and then just put those in it for the extra support for my arch.

Today is lots of meetings and more meetings and tonight is just laundry.

Guess who is running late again?! The worst part is that I'm always up by 6:30 and still get behind

Cottage - can't wait to hear about the exhibit. It sounds fascinating!

Okay, better run out the door. Should be a quiet evening tonight to stop in and catch-up

Been up futzing around the house. Truthfully I am in a little bit of a mood. I am getting a little frustrated that everything seems to revolve around Joe building the house. Believe me I understand he has deadlines and contractors to deal with. However, because of it he is not going to DC this year. I am really hurt by this. After pedaling 300 plus miles it is nice to know someone is waiting and cheering for me. Yes, I know a little selfish of me, but not having anyone from my job doing this it does get a little lonely. Granted I am not an introvert who stays in their room, but I only know these people because of the ride. So now instead of looking forward to a few days of being a tourist. I am canceling our hotel reservations and renting a car to drive home Monday night. I don't want to make an insure of this with Joe, but I cannot mask my disappointment. Maybe I better not go grocery shopping before work. I feel an emotional binge coming on.

Jennifer, I feel you r frustration. I have a trip that has to be cancelled and am feeling a bit kwabby about that.

Today is a good day to be kwabby! It's snowing madly out there. I'm sure glad we are at this end of the winter! We are just at freezing and will go lower. I've just said fuddleduddle and frass a few times and Jazz is looking shocked. I think this may be an afternoon nap kind of day.
