The sun is already up and warming up the day, and we're supposed to be in the 70s for the next week. I think it's finally safe to switch out my wardrobe. We were outside, looking at Mars last night, and it was even mild then.
This morning I plan to get the last of Susie's kitchen boxed up and the cabinets wiped down before picking up Maggie at noon. She has 1/2 days the rest of the week, and then we're going to go pick up her new puppy, which is an early birthday present for her. I'm not real thrilled about another dog in the house, but I don't have much say in the matter. Apparently 3 dogs aren't enough. I'm sure I'll fall in love with him, though.
OoooOOOooooh, a new puppy!?! What kind!!!??? I feel like a grandma a lot at my job - I get to play with the puppies, then send them home for mom and dad to clean up pee and such.
Today is my short day - I've debated going looking at cars. I'm considering the mazda3, or the subaru impreza hatchback. Anyone have these? I do need leg room for my tall husband (and my kids will be tall soon....).
Good morning Linda and chicks to come. A new puppy to love so exciting!!! What kind of puppy is Maggie getting? It is a beautiful sunny morning here too. cannot wait to get outside and enjoy it. the bike is already on the carrier.
Today will be my first outdoor ride of the season. Then the daunting task of studying for the Lt's test in June. Laundry and grilling filet mignon with zucchini, yellow squash and eggplant tonight. Maybe I'll make chicken burgers too (they actually freeze well)
Time to get DS moving....is it me or each day closer to graduation they get slower and slower in the morning
Tammy you snuck in on me Sorry no help with the car from me. A few guys have Subarus at work and love them. I must admit the Cross Trek has caught my eye. I know by the time DS graduates college my little Camry will be close to 200k so maybe I'll get one then
I've already dealt with one Hump. Jazz went roaring through the water in the yard to chase a squirrel and could not get back from the other side. I got into my coat and my garden shoes and waded across to rescue him. The water went over my boots and is mighty cold! I had to carry him back so got a wet jacket too. Silly boy!
It's just at freezing now but it's sunny and going to improve. There is a lot of flooding in this area from the big and quick melt. The water level is high already and more melt is to come. Basements of people around the lakes are flooded. I'm sure there's a big rush on sump pumps - mine have been working off and on.
Today will be a normal day after Jazz's "adventure". We go to do pet therapy this afternoon and do some banking. This morning I will file the final tax return and then start on the one for the Mill. (It's corporate and not due until June 30 but ...)
Hi there, Tammy and Jennifer. You snuck in on me while I was replenishing my coffee mug. Sounds like you both have full days.
Tammy - DH is 6'3" and I am a foot shorter so buying cars with headroom for him but that I can see over the dashboard can be a challenge.
Jennifer - Enjoy your ride. Our Camry is 12 years old and still going strong. And it's the "new" car in our fleet.
Ruth - I never knew even knew what a sump pump was until we built this house. Know I know more about them than I'd ever cared to.
Today my mom and I are going out to lunch with my old manager. The two of them see each other several times a year because their season ticket seats at the symphony are near each other. This is the women who gave me my first real job and who believed in me and promoted me when I probably didn't know what I was doing. She's retired now and I haven't seen her in several years.
Also, I've been spending a lot of time online sucked back into Ancestry.com. Although yesterday I did pull myself away long enough to get to the mall and spend some money.
I got into DH's Kind bars last night. I don't know what set me off but I had not had one in quite some time and it worked well to commit here so I'm doing that again. NO KIND BARS. Zip. Zero.
Cottage love puppies but that is a lot of doggies in a house
Tywnn I know someone who has the Mazda3 and they love it, I used to own one back in the 80's and I loved it as well.
Jekel I have to start studying for my virtual class next month, everyone tells me it is the hardest test of the ITIL Lifestages, I would pick the hardest certification class.
Ruth I pictured you carrying Jazz and I can only imagine how cold that water was.
Karen have fun at lunch catching up
Today is DH and mine 26th Anniversary we are not doing anything today we will go out to dinner this weekend. Today at lunch we are having baseball luncheon I will do my best to stay op have been doing great the past two days and do not want to ruin it.
Well, my yard may be full of water but we now have a flood in part of the Village and the Highway is closed. There is water to the top of the firemen's boots and even a whirlpool with hunks of ice swirling in it! Karen and Mark's house is flooded to a foot from the basement ceiling. We just may not make it to pet therapy unless we go the long way.
Evening! Cottage, a puppy! How exciting!! Tammy, the only experience I have with Subaru is that several years ago we looked at one and DH was too tall to fit in one comfortably; his head hit the ceiling. I think they have redesigned several models since those days. I can also relate to Karen's car-choosing issues. Ruth, our last house seemed to always have a river running through it in the spring! Hooray for sump pumps!!
Happy Anniversary, Pearl!
Sorry I've been MIA so much lately. Seems like things are just getting so busy at work that I'm always half working. I'm going to make more of an effort to get here in the mornings. I know it helps me stay focused.
