Default Introduction

Hi my name is Stephanie. I am 200 and hoping to get down to 130 by the end of the year. I am getting married in may and would like to be down 20 pound by may 24th. If there is a little more lost that is great. I have great depression from being this big as i have never been this big ever! Even being pregnant with both of my children i have still been under 200 lbs. So in my spare time i enjoy taking my truck to the race track and going to watch drag racing and playing with my kids but that is hard right now due to the depression of being overweight

Welcome! What method are you going to be trying for weight loss? Any specific diet or exercise regime?

Be careful about dropping a large amount before you wedding - can make for some last minute alterations, expenses and headaches! Wedding planning is stressful enough with out adding more worries

Hi there, going on what i've just been through since January, i think you can get drop 20 pounds fairly easily by May. However, then i would suggest you plan to rest there at that weight and not go up.

I"m currently in a resting phase and i am finding it good. I also plan to be at my chosen weight by the end of the year.

The thing about resting is part of the taking it slowly plan so that i don't get a rebound from losing too much too quickly.

But i have found 20 pounds in two months is not too much. It feels about right. Definitely if you get to 30 pounds stop there for a while.

What i'm doing for stopping is trying to stick to my food rules. You can't go free for all.

Have you thought about how hard that might be at your wedding? And around that time when there may be delicious food is everywhere and a great stress matter will have been achieved. Its a risk period for you to just let go after that so you have to [prepare well in advance and not give in to any little ideas about loosening your grip on your plan.

So you plan has to factor all that in.

if you prepare your mind, for things that are likely to happen in the future, it helps a lot. But for that you have to know yourself and your tendencies. That's where previous diet practice can help.

Sudden changes of routine can mess up your plans even when you know in advance there is going to be a chaange. I think i dread christmas now because there's so much special food around and i don't know if i will be able to avoid it or manage it but luckily its a long way off.

So you have to make rules for yourself that you will stick with whatever the changes in circumstances.

Also don't forget, 80% diet, 20% exercise. Don't restrict your calories too much out of fear of not achieving your goal. Strict reduction in calorie is more likely to cause failure than a moderate reduction.

Good luck and congratulations on your wedding.

I have been working out and eatting right for about 2 months now. And have only dropped 3 pounds. I am not on a super strict diet and my cater is an organic health cook so all of my food with be fresh and natural and all my cake is gluten free. I have that prepared i am just having trouble starting to lose the weight. I know it will come off I was losing 2 pounds a week right before i found out i was pregnant and then I stopped working out and eatting health. I took the eatting for 2 a little far. And I since I have had him I have started to eat a lot more!

I wrote a lot in reply but ultimately, which might have bored you and not helped really. So my main point is this:

The quickest way to sort this out should be by going to see a dietician. Your doctor could refer you to one.

TRying to figure it out using us will probably just confuse you and cause you more stress which isn't good for dieting. I haven't been able to figure out what's going on when people get to this problem. And i haven't noticed anyone else make convincing responses either. Except that perhaps the most convincing answer is to eat more. So go see the dietician.

Oh one more thing. Alcohol has calories. Just in case that's a big part of your lifestyle.
