Question New to 3 Fat Chicks and wondering: What's important about weight-loss to you?

Hi to my fellow 3 Fat Chicks forum members!

I don't know about y'all, but I find staying motivated to be the best way to keep up with my weight-loss intentions, and also the hardest thing to keep up with as well.

One thing that I find motivating is reading what weight-loss will do for others.

For instance, for me, losing weight will give me a chance to be more active with my daughter, who's turning 2 on Monday. And let's face it, toddlers are FAST!

It will also help stabilize my mood, so when my LO has her temper-tantrums, I won't be as liable to endure my own tempter-tantrum in response. Maybe that's just me, but I know that what I eat (and in turn my weight) plays a huge part in my mood.

So, those are just a few things that makes losing weight important to me.

What's important about losing weight to you?

Oh, and I hope you're all staying warm!!

For me it has helped me to get my blood pressure in control. Also I want to get back to riding horses. I have 2 and my friends and daughters ride them so this year is my year for getting my groove back and enjoying life again. The smaller clothes I am fitting into helps too.

I want a healthy weight/healthy lifestyle for pregnancy and living to see my future children grow up.

I got heart disease issues on both sides of my family.

Mostly health. I am getting older and I want to live a healthier lifestyle and weight loss is part of that.

Welcome to 3FC! Those are very good reasons to stay motivated.

Mine is due to my health. I'm 26 and am getting tested for sleep apnea, which I think has worsened since my weight gain from October until now (an additional 40 pounds)! I am a hypochondriac, so I fret about my health often. I want to eliminate some of the stress I feel about my weight.

I also want to get pregnant at some point and I think my weight's interfering with that.

Good luck with your weight loss! This is a great place for support.

Hi everyone, for me it is my mums recent diagnosis of diabetes and the fact that I have PCOS and am most likely infertile right now

Also, I am unbelievably unhappy with my appearance, so for that reason too.

I think we all do it for health really, although being overweight doesn't always mean you are unhealthy or unfit, just remember that!!

Beth.

My reason for losing weight is to be healthy, be able to get around better. I have arthritis in my knees, so the extra weight is hurtful. I want to have more energy to do things with my hubby. To also get off the diabetics meds. and of course, I want to look better. Since I've lost some weight, I find I enjoy dressing up and buying new clothes.
I just joined this forum a few days ago. I find it does help to read comments and stories of others, it helps me keep motivated. Have a great day.

I don't want to spend the best decade of my life looking like "this" when I know I can look like "that." Hahaha!

Also because as time goes by losing weight becomes harder.

Also because my husband is losing a lot of weight and I want to keep up with his ridiculous good looks. I think he deserves it as much as he says I deserved him thinner and healthier.

And what else? Duh, because I would look super hot and who can say no to that!? LOL

For me it used to be primarily about looks and mostly just lip service about health. Now that I'm middle aged, I really am more interested in my health. I am also interested in my looks, but even if I were to maintain my ideal weight, there's only so much upside.

Another big deal for me now is maintenance. I am more willing to lose weight slowly (even very slowly) if I can figure out a way to keep it off in the process.
