Smile Looking for support and motivation

Hi Everyone!

I am a 28 year old woman working to lose a total of 80 pounds, already gotten 13 off since June. It's so hard....eating the cupcakes and not working out seemed so easy lol

I recently quit smoking, which was seriously blocking my progress, and instead of gaining weight like most ex smokers do, I have lost 2 pounds. More than anything tho I feel better and have become EXCITED to work out and really push myself. 3 years ago I tried this process and lost a total of 45 lbs(gain back plus some) but I know that I can do this, because I have before.

I came here to find support, get advice, and feedback. Plus I need a community of people who aren't going to judge("you did it to yourself....etc" well yes, that is true...but the causes of my poor self care have been so much more complex than "just being lazy". Although I do own laziness and lack of discipline as a factor.

Anyway, glad to have found this place look forward to supporting you all on your journeys as well.

Now I'm off to the gym!

Hey & welcome.

It is soo hard sometimes I'm just now sort of restarting my weightloss journey after a bad break up. Cupcakessss.... they just recently came out with cupcakes at panera bread and my sister works there... and brings home extras all the time. It''s so hard to resist.

Congrats on your progress so far and on quitting smoking thats awesome.

I too need to work on self discipline. So far I've been doing daily weigh ins on the 20-somethings support board which has been helping me stay accountable. I also keep trying to come up with daily affirmations to stay on track.

MoonandSky,

Oh BOY have you found a great group of gals &guys! The dreaded talk of "you did this to yourself" is something we all might be able to relate to or have been told that in our lives, but you won't get that judgement from US.

We support your courage and STRENGTH to seek out like minded folks who know.

We are cheering for you! Why? Because you ARE you!
