To what are you comparing those readings? Had you been taking it regularly before? Are you just comparing them to the last time you had your BP taken at the doctor's office?
I would really advise against Doctor Google. There is a lot of crack pot information out there and a lot of people who are convinced they are the special anomaly that breaks all the rules.
The DASH diet guidelines are a good place to start if you're looking to lower your BP via diet. Moderate exercise, like walking, is also good (if your doc is OK with it). Your quality of sleep can make a huge impact. If you bumped your carbs way up, you probably want to get a grip on that.
Mostly I'd advise keeping a diet journal, continuing your meds, and taking regular BP readings at the same time every day (first thing in the morning, mid afternoon, right before bed, maybe before and after exercising) so you have something to show your doctor.
I guess I also have to ask what you're doing for "dieting?" You can always call your doc if you feel your BP is spiking and no doubt they have a pamphlet with the DASH diet guidelines.
Good luck. High BP is nothing to play with, but you probably already know that.
