Hello new community!
This is my first time looking to an online community for support and I'm looking forward to learning lots and helping others as well.
A bit about me: I'm 32, self-employed and living in the lovely city of Toronto.
I've been over-weight my entire life, but gained significant weight in my early 20's, prior to that I was an active tomboy and I miss the joys of being very active. That is what I want back more than any particular look or size!
I have some friends who are over-weight but I run in circles where being fat and proud is becoming a political statement and I can't find the support or fitness buddies I want, so... online I go!
Currently, I weigh 310 (my highest was 320) and my goal weight, well to be honest the number isn't that important to me. It might be 180, 170 or 160lbs, as long as I'm in the active shape I want to be (boxing and rugby are my secret passions) with the muscle-mass I love (weight training makes me sooo happy!), I'll be content.
I'm loosely following the Eat Clean Diet, which I adore. As well, I'm mostly gluten-free and lactose-free because I find my joint pain (from an old knee injury) vanishes when I am. I swear it's a miracle!
I would LOVE to find a fitness buddy in my area so any suggestions on where to look would be greatly appreciated! (I've tried a few places without luck, craigslist may be my next bet.)
