Default a big hello to everyone

I carried an extra 20 pounds for a good many years and then it turned into 30 extra pounds. I have tried many different things, Nutri-system, Slim Fast, ... I have realized that I do not need a diet, I need something long term. I need to change my eating and exercise habits...I need to make a lifestyle change. I have really been paying attention to some of the things I do; like I realized I eat even when I am not hungry and I eat bigger portions than I should. I am a single mom of a teenage boy and we just made an out-of-state move, I do not have a support network here, so I am joining this wonderful forum to find support and motivation.

Default Hi

I just happened onto this sight and it looks like it will be a huge help in my weight loss journey! I was in a car accident six years ago and needed to spend lots of time in bed and added extra pounds onto what I already owned. With pain still I thought I would start with my eating habits and then maybe be more comfortable to go for walks. ( work wipes me out!) I know I can do it I am just so used to grabbing something quick and my goal would be to loose that habit as well!!

I lost 20 pounds (gained back 10 unfortunately) with the ideas you stated. Basically becoming aware of when you are full. Stop eating. People tend to over eat when we eat out especially. We've all said "I'm sooo stuffed". That and eating things we don't really like just because it is there. If I can get this stuff back in my head and remember these ideas, I can get the weight back off and so can you. This board will be very useful for both of us!!
