Default Please provide your inputs - in need of some motivation folks

Hello All
I have been dieting and exercising very sincerely this month.

Diet Start Date: 4/29/13 Weight: 192.7
On 5/11/13:185.8 (this drop was just with managing my intake and eating healthy)
Exercise Start Date: 5/12/13 (30-40 mins exercise 4 days a week)
My weight from 5/12/13 till today is fluctuating between 187 and 188.


I have heard that it is normal to see some weight gain if you are new to exercise and how sore muscles retain water for some time. But folks it’s been 10 days !! I am feeling very depressed and disheartened now. Does anybody have a similar experience – if yes how long did it take for you to see a major drop on the scale? Greatly appreciate your inputs .

Obviously everyone is different. With me it was almost 2 weeks before it finally flushed away. But remember, a pound of fat is 3500 calories. That would mean you'd have to eat 3500 ABOVE maintenance. That's a crazy amount of calories. So relax. It'l come off eventually. Have to be patient or this lifestyle change will become more of a burden. Can't let yourself get discouraged so easily and quickly. I learned that from the wonderful people here.
