Default Anomaly or should I be concerned?

At WI today was up 2lbs

So a little background on last couple weeks- I know I have missed a round or two of the cal-mags in the evenings..but dont think that was it. Don't really cheat either (my cheats are either a little extra protein or extra vegetables at dinner, but not entire extra meals). I have been kind of on autopilot the last month or so.. so I dont record what I eat... might have to start that again.

Previous 3 WI's were losses of 4lb, 2.6lb and 4lb. What was strange was my measurements today were the same as my WI 3 weeks ago but I was 5lbs heavier 3 weeks ago

Another thing to throw in the mix, my coach hasn't been there the last 2 weeks, so measurements might be exactly the same even though we try.

Any thoughts/advice?

It happens. No need to be concerned if you know you are following the plan 100%.

All the little extra helpings of protein and veggies do add up calorie wise and can slow your losses. Try sticking to the sheet portions for the week (weigh and measure everything) and also make sure you are getting all your water in.

An anomaly, I'm sure. There will be ups occasionally, it is to be expected. Just stay OP and it will work out. I know it's frustrating, but try not to stress about it - stress only exacerbates the situation. You're doing great!

Learning the difference between fat loss and weight loss (not taught by IP as far as I know) can really help your mental state. Fat gain or loss is always an equation of energy. Sounds like you're doing great. Keep it up!

Assuming you're being honest there is no way you could have possibly gained any fat at all, let alone two pounds. Water flux can vary quite a bit with people and the bigger you are, the more water can change. I can swing 7-8 lbs of water weight quite easily.

I can also gain up to 8 or 9lbs water weight in a week! Don't stress, just keep doing what you're doing. Next week will probably be better :-)

Thats exactly what I was thinking... I thought I had read somewhere it takes3000-3500 extra calories to gain a pound. No way my extra grilled chicken tenderloin or extra cup of roasted broccoli did that.. so no worries. Thanks to all for the support and advice..

I did the same last week, lost 2.8 one week gained 2.6 the next! Not only had I started walking more (I am a coach for 11 year old boys) but my stress level has gone up.

Waiting to see what weigh in says this week, if my scale is right I am back to where I was.

Correct. 3500 calories to a pound.
