Default Weight loss organizer or journal ??

Hi all, I'm looking for some software which I could use for my weight loss journey. I want to include spreadsheet files, word files and a photo album. If possible I'd love the option to include music files and a calendar and to-do list. At the moment I save all these on my hard drive and access them separately. I suppose I could print out stuff and stick into a scrapbook/book/folder, but as I love using the computer I'd prefer a digital solution. I've trawled thro the net and can't find anything that supports all the above. Maybe I'm chasing an elusive dream, but for the first time in my life I'm really losing weight and want to record the journey.

Just thought I'd put out the question to see if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks in advance

Sounds like you are interested in the same thing I am! I'm uber nerdy (OCD? ) and love being organized and detailed. I joined Weight Watchers and it gives me a daily list I can input data into of everything I eat and all my activity. Weekly it creates charts and graphs that show the average points used, activity earned, weight lost, etc.

One non-WW option I love for my phone is the MyFitnessPal app. You can input daily activity/food(calories) and update your weight and it inputs that data into a chart for you, etc. I highly suggest you check it out. For everything else I have a file folder in my computer that has 2 pictures of myself for every 5% I lose of my Starting Weight with the date. Unfortunately I don't have any spreadsheets to share, but hopefully someone will. Good luck!

Thanks a mil for those suggestions. I'm on a very restricted regime of approx 800 cals and not using WW etc., Its just that I came across old historic weight loss stuff that I was going to scan and put into the 'scrapbrook/journal' Also, I use a spreadsheet that records my weekly losses, goals etc., Also I have lots of motivational pics that I want to include and of course photos. I'm not looking for much am I lol!

I know we are not suppose to be overly critical of a person's diet but I urge you to eat more than 800 calories a day unless you are on a VLCD program that is overseen by a doctor. Without a doctor monitoring you, you can develop serious heart problems.

P.S. If this is run by a doctor sorry for poking my nose in!

But answer your question, I use MyFitness Pal and a personal blog that I keep private. MyFitness Pal is to track data the blog is track my feelings! I know that sounds weird but it helps.

I'd never think you were poking your nose in! lol and I really appreciate your comments. I'm under full supervision by a clinic run by a fully qualified GP, but fully understand your concern
Never thought of personal blog, hmmm I wonder if I would be savvy enough to try it!!
Thanks a mil

Hello there.. I actually have a binder where I created a daily loggin of info, Weight, How I feel, Exercise, Meals and what I ate (and Carbs) and my goals for the day (being in my 50's paper is easier for me to look at lol). I also bought a bunch of stickers and phrases... so everytime I accomplished a true loss I put a sticker (or many lol) on the page. If I am having a bad day... I have stickers with encouraging phrases. I get a kick to look back at it to see what I weighed 2 months ago etc and what my meals have been. Just my way of making this fun...

I hope you do well and we hear all about your wonderful successes!

Thanks so much for your suggestions and nice comments I too am in my fifties, well 59 later this year (gulp!) and this is the first time in my life I am losing weight steadily. My metabolism is extremely slow, most likely because I have battled with obesity since childhood. My first visit to a specialist when I was about 6 and then on my first diet when I was 10. Anyway, this is working and I feel so hopeful and thankful at where I am today. Perahps I will resort to a 'paper edition' after all lol! I love my computer and would much prefer to type something than write it, but maybe in this case your suggestion is better Decided to change my goal to 160lbs instead, bringing me closer to target.
Would love to hear all about you and your journey

I've been thinking about the same thing. I have a weight loss journal that I write in with a good old fashioned pen and paper, plus I use myfitnesspal, plus I have a couple aps on my phone I use for inputting diet and exercise. I've been thinking that I should try to consolidate everything in some kind of digital format and it might be easier for me to spot positive and negative trends.

Some great suggestions so far.

I use www.fitday.com

It has a place to log calories and nutrition, a calendar so you can organize, ways to log exercise, weight etc, it creates all kinds of graphs based on weight, nutrition, inches etc, you can create weight goals, chart your mood, and write a diary. The only thing it can't do is store pictures but since it can do everything else you're looking for it might be a good option.

There must be more of us who are looking for the same sort of ideal way to record everything, so hopefully someone might post other suggestions.
In the meantime I found this Advanced Diary and the sebsite name is csoftlab dot com (I can't post the link cost I don't have enought posts) Anyway I'm trying out. It doesn't do a spreadsheet, but I think if might work. Cost is about $30. Are you using a particular weight lost plan? Thanks again
