Default anyone doing online only?

I just started implementing the Point Plus system, on my own. I've been getting lots of help and advice here! I'm thinking of signing up now for WW online to use the online tools, etc. Meetings are out of the question because of the high price. And unless you are lucky enough to find an enthusiastic group - I heard that WW meetings are Dullsville.
Can anyone tell me the pros or cons with WW online? Is what you get worth the money? They are running a special now for waiving the signup fee, and only $18-something a month. That I can afford.

I do online only and I love it. I get my "support" from reading the boards here and pinning inspirational quotes to pinterest, but I'm not interested in going to physical meetings. I love it and it works well for me.

I have done the monthly pass in the past and that was well worth the money to me. I'm going at it alone this time. If I follow for 3 months, my husband and I will re-visit the possibility of monthly pass again. I enjoyed my meetings, but it depends on the leader. I tried 3 different leaders at different times to decide what one would be best for me. The first leader I had was monotone and said the same introduction EVERY week. That intro took up about 15 minutes of the meeting time. The rest of them time we talked about successes during the week and that group liked sharing new food finds. I like the food part! Haha. The second leader I tried was AHMazing! The third leader I tried was even better and fit my personality so much better. She pushed me when I needed it, helped keep me on track and she made me feel like she really cared about my weight loss even though there were dozens of people in the 2 meeting locations she led classes at.

I have a friend doing just WW On-line and she likes it. You get the on-line tools and I'm pretty sure you can log in through your phone if you have a smart phone.

I do online, just starting my third week today.

I did it before and lost about 25lbs but stopped for some reason. This time I'm sticking with it!

For me, I don't think what is offered in online only is valuable enough for me to pay for. I have an app on my phone that tracks points, calculates my points and daily allowance, has a database with point values, and let's me track healthy choices (veggies/fruits, activity and activity points, etc,). I think if I joined online, I would have access to weekly booklets on how to follow the program, but I have gone to meetings before and don't feel I need them. i read ww magazine, look online for nutrition information, follow the guidelines of myplate.gov instead. I don't know anything about the new 360 stuff, but I feel like I am okay without it

I just finished my 4th week doing WW Online. I love it, so easy to look-up foods, recipes, articles, and other information. The apps are great too. Used the barcode scanner one today in the grocery store to look up how many points certain foods were.

I'm doing WW Online this time around. I've been to a lot of meetings in the past, so I think I have a pretty good idea of what I'm missing.

Online, I don't really read the articles and I'm not following the weekly information - although I probably should. But, I'm very familiar with the program. I think the message boards online (at WW) are a mess. Much better here. Basically, I'm just using the WW Online site for tracking (including looking up foods), the android app, and the bar code scanner app.

I can totally understand where straightahead is coming from. There are lots of free (and good) food tracking websites, apps, and bar code scanners available for free. Currently, I'm playing with My Fitness Pal and can see as a real alternative to WW Online for me, someday. But, I do like how WW sets my daily points and weekly points (and I like how they split those up between daily and weekly) - and how the daily points get racheted down as you lose weight. Yeah, I might be calculate similar calorie targets on my own but I'm confortable with WW. And, I've not had issues with the WW tracker or apps.

Thanks Straightahead and Maureen. I'm just trying to decide on using the WW phone app - which would require me to get a smartphone. (I need one in this day and age. My old LG is obsolete.) Or would it be worthwhile to just go ahead and sign up with WW Online, as they are running a special right now. Thanks again everybody.
