hello
i started today on my weight loss diet using the 80 20 principle. this allows me to adjust my diet plan as i go along to work out what foods are and are not working for me. to start with i am eliminating all bread, and pasta, and increasing protein.
a little about me, i am 40, weigh 107 kg, have an 18 month old son and a beautiful younger wife. i want to be able to keep up with both of them and be here in a healthy body, not the overweight, unfit, and injury prone body it is now.
i am a vegetarian by choice, and for those of you who will ask, no i don't eat chicken or fish as to me they are MEAT not vegetable, and for the ones who will inevitably ask i do have eggs and dairy. i am not a vegan although i am going to be one for a while to see if that makes a difference in how my body functions, although i will first stop eating breads and wheat based pasta ( egg based pasta is going to be a temporary addition for a while until i stop eggs.). my wife is Taiwanese and has been teaching me to cook vegetarian Taiwanese meals, which is very much a fresh produce type of cooking.
when i first went vege, i lost 30 kg in 3 months, which was awesome, and i managed to keep it off for about 12 months, then i started to gain it back again. and have continually ranged from about 100 to 110 kg. my goal is to reach 90 kg and to maintain that for as long as i desire ( which is to say forever).
any ideas and thoughts offered will be greatly appreciated, please feel free to pm me with ideas and meal plans. i have started my own blog to help me keep track of what i eat and what exercise i do daily, and if the moderators will allow me to put it up here i will do so as my blog will have a section for being able to comment. i need all the help i can get to not only drop the weight, but also to keep it off.
