Default I quit smoking and now I am not losing weight :(

So I finally quit smoking..which is great (except I miss it a lot!!) and even though I have been VERY careful not to replace smoking with eating but I am still not losing weight anymore.

I am finding it very difficult to exercise now that I have quit smoking (I have no "reward" after the workout anymore). I need to get back into it and need some motivation!!!

Has anyone else had this problem???

haha, yeah, that's me! Not trying to scare you, but it's been more than a year since I quit and it's still hard. But I love being a non-smoker. I'll never go back.

I've quit smoking about a thousand times. This time it's been about two months. The thing that helps me is just focusing on how I want to be a healthy person all around. There's no more cigarette smoke, so that was step one (check), then step two was eating healthy (check), then exercising (check). It just helps to make it a step in a grander challenge. And I love proving things to myself.

Congrats on quitting though! It's not an easy thing to do but goodness it feels so much better to be without it. You'll feel that too. Be proud!

OMG yes!! I was there once. I would "treat" myself to a smoke AFTER gym every night too. (It's disgusting now that I think of it)

The bad thing that I did was after a few months, I stopped working out as well which led me to BLOAT!! I don't know if there is a scientific explanation to quitting smoking and gaining weight but quitting does affect your body so many ways!!

It's been over a year that I quit and even though I just restarted this weight loss journey, I know I am waaaay better at gym NOW than I was when I was smoking!

Fret not, don't give into the urge and keep doing what you're doing! You just need to push through it. You WILL lose weight !! Hang in there!!

I quit smoking and immediately felt like a different person. I have so much more energy and don't feel weighed down by that monkey on my back.
Smoking burns 200 calories a day so if you've quit you need to burn those extra calories by exercising. Also are you keeping a diary of everything you put in your mouth? Even SF gum and mints have calories so if you are using a lot of them it will make a difference.
No matter what be pround of yourself for making a huge healthy choice for your life.
