  • I'm starting this tonight and am very excited! Had hubby take my "before" pic and posted on my blog about it along with the daily squat schedule. Anyone want to join me and share before/during/after pics? I'm excited to see the difference. I really am embarrassed by my before pic!!

Day One of the challenge: 50 Body Weight Squats.

    so...who's with me???
  • I'm with you on the challenge, but I doubt I'll post pics. It's such a great way to exercise though! Way to go for jumping on the bandwagon
  • Great! Yep, I'm posting the pics event though they are awful. But if progress shows those "awful pics" may motivate someone else, and that will be a plus!
  • I'm starting this tomorrow with a group of friends! I won't be posting pics though...
  • I just started this today -- how's it going ladies???
  • Can't find enough information about the progrm on the internet but I'm interested. What are you supposed to do? Also, there are conflicting reports, is this for weight loss or is it for booty-building?

    That's the challenge.
  • We have a thread going on somewhere on 3fc, mist of us are on day 3-7 it's quite a workout

    That's the challenge.
I don't get it, is the author glad she started it or unhappy or advocating for it or against it? "you don't challenge me" sorry I'm not comprehending what this post is about it. I'm just looking for information on the how-to.

this is where the 30 day squat challenge is thedollylala mentioned. i'm about to do day 5.

my understanding is that its to tone butt and legs and lift the butt.
  • Oooh this sounds fun! Thanks for the link gwenaa.
  • I'm on day 14! Tomorrow is my half way mark and I am going to take a 'half way' photo!!! So far, I'm doing awesome and my legs and glutes "feel" stronger! I can tell there is a physical difference.

My husband says my butt looks smaller, but I'm not sure. LOL!

It is def a killer workout. I'm doing it to make my lower body stronger and "look better."

I blogged about it when I started and there is a photo there with the daily number of squats required and my "before photo." You can check that post out here

I plan on blogging about it with my half way photo and then again with the after photo to see if there is a difference.
  • It leaves some unanswered questions. Like do you do it every day? Isn't it not good to work out the same muscle every day? Don't muscles need time to heal before you work them out again? Do you have to do it all in one sitting? Is this for weight loss? What do you hope to accomplish from doing this?

Well, in the article that you linked, there's a graphic that outlines the challenge...and it says right on the graphic that you do squats for two days, then rest, two days, then rest, and so on that way. So...no, you don't do it every day; the answer to that "unanswered question" is right there for you to read. And actually, a few of your unanswered questions are answered:

    1) No. You don't do it every day. 2 days on, 1 day off, for thirty days.
    2) Since you don;t do it every day, you're not working the same muscles every day.
    3) Yes, your muscles need time to recover. Hence the rest days in between the sessions.

As for whether the squats need to all be done at once...I doubt it. Who the **** has the time, for example, to do 250 squats in one sitting? Of course, if you want to, I'm sure there's no rule against it. But splitting them up throughout the day would be fine too.

No, this is not for weight loss. It's touted as a way to tone and strengthen your legs, thighs, and butt. I know a lot of people who swear by them, so I'm not sure I'd dismiss it out of hand.

...Did you even read the article you linked? I mean, the graphic outlining the schedule for the challenge was right there and most of your questions were answered from it, really.

Wow, attitude much? I was quoting the questions from the article, of course I read it. And if you had read it carefully you'd have seen that it's not 2 days on 1 day off like you describe, it's 3 days on, 1 day off. Thanks for the insight.
