Default "New" again... have to do this this time!

I once again find myself back to start, only this time I am 46.

I successfully lost 50 pounds with LA Weightloss in 2006, then I stalled, my marriage fell apart and I have regained plus.

I am in a much better place now, I went back to school, made it through the divorce, and actually I am getting married in Feb. I am terrified I won't fit in my dress. I know I shouldn't count on losing, but I needed the additional motivation so I already have a dress I love. I don't want to have to punt.

I am planning to calorie count and exercise. I am starting with walking every other day, I work 12 hour shifts every other day and so far haven't been able to add exercise to those days. I have noticed that a lot of the successful losers and maintainers are calorie counters, and I think that will work well for me for long term change. Eventually I would like to get back into running and add weight training or yoga to my routines.

I have been putzing with this since January and have gained and lost the same 5 pounds over and over, so I need to get serious. I have a calorie counting app and also map my run to figure out distances for my walking.

Would love to keep in touch with like minded individuals.

Hi, futurerunner! I've only belonged to 3FC for a couple of months, but I find the support and encouragement very helpful. I also love to see people's goal pictures. Someday, right?
I did weight watchers on and off for awhile and gained and lost the same 5lbs, like you, but have recently started calorie counting and find it way more effective. If you have a smart phone, there is an app called myfitnesspal that is fabulous for calorie counting. Love it! Maybe it's the one you already have I also use map my walk to track my walking. I'm looking forward to the new fitbit flex, since most of my exercise is done in the pool.
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! Good for you for starting your diet now.. It gives you plenty of time before February!

I also calorie count and walk. So far it works when I work it. Welcome to 3FC!
