Heloo Tooround,
I'm a 42 female also, but my troubles started at age 36. In a period of 5 years, while running marathons even, I gained 50 pounds. The combination of marathon running and a high carb diet (runner food) and age severely atrophied my muscles (too much cardio can make your body cannibalize muscle as well). So - I started weight training and eating like a body builder (I like Body Rx by Connelly the best). I've lost 55 pounds and kept it off for 2 years. Went from a BMI of 31 to 23.
I notice you do walking for exercise, but I'm telling you, weight training is the secret. Just look at all the flabby cardio bunnies next time you go to a gym. Besides, you need extra muscle to prevent osteoporosis and other problems later on.
I want to lose about 8 more pounds of fat just for aesthetics, but I look pretty good at 42. That's the time you do intense cardio, but keep up the weight training.
