I was wondering if you find it easier to keep on track if you write your food down. Thanks

i don't. i'm not really the organized type-i'm lucky just to get the calories in and counted. but having it in a system like myfitnesspal or loseit or something really helps in my opinion.

While through Weight Watchers, I have the capability to log my food through my phone or online, I prefer to write it down on paper.

For some reason the act of picking up a pen/pencil and having to put it down on paper, makes it more real.

Whatever method you choose, tracking is so important. It gives you the feedback, you need to move forward!

I am the pen and paper tracker, too. I have done it online and I liked the printout I could get but the old pen and paper just seems to work best for me and takes me about 5 minutes.

There's something mentally powerful about keeping a food log, whether you use an online tool or pen and paper. Even though I know the calorie of everything I eat at this point, I STILL log it. There's just something about it that keeps your mind connected to what you're eating.

Personally, I use daily burn to record mine.

While I don't think I will forever, I'm writing down food now like it's a religious event! I try to go into MFP first thing in the morning and write down the day's food. That way I know how many calories I have to "play" with in case I want to make adjustments or just can't face another salad even though I love them. I seriously under estimate the calorie value of foods unless I do this.

Tracking is helpful. Every time I have been successful at losing weight, I have been tracking in some way. Every time I have stopped tracking, I have gained weight back. I've used a notebook, Sparkpeople, and now WW online; what's essential for me is tracking EVERYTHING, even when I go off plan. That keeps me coming back ON plan the next day.

I've found that writing everything down is the only way I stay on track. The days I don't write things down, I end up going over my points for the day.

I use myfitnesspal too! I find it really great for keeping on track with my calories and seeing how many I have to "play" with at the end of the day. I like that you can create recipes with it too and add them straight away

Hi...I will begin on Thursday on planning my low calorie plan on a notebook binder, pen Calorie King Book, and a calculator. Have heard planning meals and snack daily helps..which am going to do. Good luck with your efforts.
