Exclamation Lazy PharmD student who needs motivation!

I am too used to trying those gimmick lose weight quick tricks that never work. I've lost like 20 lbs max before from trying to lose weight the right way, then I just stopped. I joined a gym recently but I've only gone once in a month. I don't know why I'm so lazy. I do have the time but I'm a shy one. I hate going alone, and I wanted to sign up for the free training at my gym but I'm scared. I currently weigh around 236. My goal is to be 160 lbs. A mini goal for me is just getting under 200 by the end of April. I always set up unrealistic goals for my self. Food is no longer a temptation for me because I eat in moderation and I eat healthy. Any pointers? Also, how do I get that weight tracker thing at the bottom of some of you guy's posts?

Hi and welcome, I'm very new here too, (2 days now) if you click "user cp" and profile, (I think) you may find that tracker thing. I have to do that too. I know what you mean about the gym, I prefer to do my own workouts, I ride the bike and do long walks daily.

Hey girl! I'm new here too. Micro student. I have spent thousands of dollars on underused gym memberships. :/ Most recently I bought a nice treadmill (three months ago) and have found that I get MUCH more use out of it than my gym memberships. Being a student and a mommy means very little time, so it's easier to squeeze in a short jog when the treadmill is right in the living room staring at me, lol! So far 20 pounds down with a LONG way to go.
If I may, I encourage you to do the free training! I went to one at my old gym and it was with a personal trainer who was very kind and informative. I actually learned a lot about how to use the strength training equipment.
Do you have a friend or family member that might be on board with going with you a few times a week? That has really helped me in the past, when I lived closer to family and had time for friends!

I do have a family who is on board but she is just as lazy as I am and comes up with those excuses that we all use. I am going to go to the gym whether she comes or not, on Thursday.

Welcome aboard! I am glad you found us here. Glad to hear you are going to the gym on Thursday. Why don't you come on over to the Exercise thread and join us for the motivation to get you there and keep you going back. We post our exercise and it sure does look great when you go back and read some of your past posts. Everybody else is in a similar boat as you so you will fit right in with the rest of us.

As far as the ticker at the bottom, you have to have at least 20 posts and be on the board for 20 days before you will find the edit signature ability under your UserCP at the top left of your purple toolbar. I just got mine today and set up my ticker and siggy.

I have been there but looking back I do believe the one that helped me out the most was going partial vegan !! And then we went on vacation to my sisters in Texas near the Louisana Border and a very popular dish is Seafood Gumbo and Dang it that was my downfall and that in having a hubby who works construction who needs lots of protein for his muscles and that was my downfall as well !! I am afraid I cave in to easy !!! So had to mix it up !! Long story hun do what you have to do that works for you !!! And what is comfortable !!! I am still on my weight loss journey I am Afraid Stress and Genetics but I am determined to conquer it once and for all !!!!! You can do it !!
