Default Good morning new friends

I am here because this is a very lonely process for me. Line many of you, my weight has been a struggle my entire life. I have always felt fat, but looking back if I weighed what I did after my first child was born I would be so happy right now!

I have to lose weight in part because I feel like a failure for gaining back what I had lost and kept off for almost 5 years. I had lo. st 58 lbs, and was weighing 180. That point was not quite right for me, so I let myself settle out in the 195 zone. I was comfortable, moving well, feeling attractive but knowing I will always be a curvy girl and not a super low normal weight. That would be abnormal for me.

I suddenly regained weight in a 6 month period, A lot of things were happening, including new medications for fibromyalgia, our schedules changed and because we are a 1 car family I am the school transportation, and am unable to work out (warm water aerobics) as consistently as I did for a few years, It is winter, I am not biking, and then along came the "comfort eating monster" which is always an indication of depression for me.

I tried to vanquish the monster with nutritional support of depression, adding in 5HTP, DLPA and omega oils, but it wasn't enough. I did re-start a prescription for antidepressants a few weeks ago.

I know how to eat well, I have done it for years, to support my chronic illness, keep my family healthy, and save money. I am a member of the Weston A Price Foundation, and would love to find others on here who balance those practices and nutritional guidelines with weight loss, because I don't think eating my delicious home made yogurt made from raw whole milk is going to work here lol!

I have a love of food. I fermet veggies, make Kombucha , love to make my own yogurt, used to make my own bread. It is an intimacy with the source of the food, raised locally, that is part of our families values.

So that is my introduction. Happy to have found you guys!

Welcome StaciRai,

My family would LOVE you and your yogurt! LOL We go through so much of it! Do you have your own farm? I've only had raw milk once, in coffee.

I used to make my own bread too. I loved the feeling of kneading the dough and intuitively knowing when it had the right consistency.

Good luck with the weight loss and see you around the boards!!
